Are you getting one? I did 24 kilometers yesterday in total yesterday walking up white Hill in Windsor then along to magna carta Island,I wouldn't mind checking out my health stats, and keeping an eye on them.

I am. I don’t have a watch at all now as I have found the my skin reacts to any watch I use. It didn’t when I was younger. Bit of a mystery really.

But I am going to give it a go when it is released. I will get one that measures blood glucose aswell as the usual stuff.

Apple and Samsung know well that this kind of technology will revolutionise how we view our health. In a few years from now we will all be wearing one. And there will be other manufacturers in the fray, not just Samsung and Apple.

I have had a SEIKO Kinetic for a number of years, and it does exactly what I need it for. To tell me the time.

Huge amounts of people are paying out £100 a month (some on prescription) for devices that only monitor blood glucose levels. That’s £1200 a year. These new watches will tell the time and read blood glucose levels and a host of other things too, all for £370 full stop.

I have a blood pressure machine, cost £25 that is accurate.
I am looking at a little effort to measure blood sugar for about £50

Twice yearly I get to have full blood tests, and once a year I am invited to go for a Diabetic Retinopathy
    Priceless.

The watches won’t measure blood pressure, Dom. I have a machine for that too.

I don’t measure my blood glucose at all except twice a year at the Doctors surgery. The beauty of a CGM (continuous glucose monitor), is that it tells you exactly what raises your blood glucose levels. This then tells you what you need to avoid eating. Once you know what raises your blood glucose levels you can maintain low levels all the time, eliminate drug dependency if any and reverse retinopathy. Your doc would then congratulate you and mark you down as in remission or reversed. You might not need your BP monitor after that.

The beauty of the pending watches is that they are non invasive (don’t pierce the skin) and monitor and record every moment of the day.

I am sorry but I am quite an unbeliever in this stuff.

A couple of years ago, I did gift my wife a samsung, all dancing and whistling, smart watch at Christmas, only to be able to enjoy some peace and quiet again.
The constant daily use, unfortunately, tends to drain her smart phone battery to nothing in nearly 9 hours from charge, and now she is of the opinion that she needs to change the phone itself... Thanks to the suggestion from one of her barkada friends.
this is beside the fact that the watch is hopeless, as it measured 10k steps while sitting on the settee watching Queen of the South on Netflix...

From what I gather some are better than others. Mrs Ash has a cheap Smart watch but finds it okay. She didn’t pay much for it at all.

Don’t tell ‘er indoors as she might want one:

Wow! That is definitely beautiful! I have the previous model in red 44mm.
But weird as iWatch series 7 doesn’t look like that in GSMArena!
