I agree, once you have taken a few of those online mock tests you start getting the hang of it, probably like you it took me a few attempts to achieve the pass mark.

Korean food is not for me, I have worked there a few times and find they offer too much pond weed and not enough meat to fill my ever increasing stomach :)

Hello @Maharg! In the form it asked for letters/docs on my name like utility bills, NHS registration, bank, employment contract. So I provided some of those but forgot to send my BRP card. Annoying coz it didn't specify that on the form or I may have just missed it.

Ok. Will have to check that. I haven't looked at the actual form yet. Hopefully they will just send you a letter to ask for your BRP rather than make you apply again.

They provided an address to send any enquiries to after you have posted your application so I will just write to them and possibly send the card together with the letter. Can you point me to a reference that says the BRP card should be returned together with the application?

Just had a look and, er, no I can't! It would be my assumption though.

May be worth giving their hotline a call.

Hi @Peaches! Yes, that is the form that I used. I only sent my current passport and the one that I used when I applied for my FLR M visa. I did not send my BRP card because it does not say anywhere that I should. And when I got the letter from UKVI to do my biometrics enrolment, there is no mention of surrendering my card. Until I hear back from them about it, I'll keep it with me. Hope that helps!

Hi Firew0myn, did you get your new BRP yet?

We received my wife's new passport this morning so will be looking to update the BRP now. I'm not totally convinced we need to do this and I'm sure we could wait until applying for ILR but I think it's better safe than sorry.

I'd go for better safe than sorry (you have 3 months to update), I will update you next Wednesday if I get away without paying a fine for not updating BRP after name change in the passport.

I'm awaiting your outcome with interest, Timmers. I suspect you won't have to pay a fine and they'll just issie the BRP in the married name, but we'll see.

I may give the hotline a call just to get their opinion. I'm wondering if we can still go along the AKA route for another year or so as it seems such a waste to have to get a BRP for just 12 months.

The thing I see as not being in my favour is the fact that we have effectively done the UKVI out of the BRP update fee (£243) but like you I do have a gut feeling it will be overlooked. I did a internet search months back and I could not find a single case where someone had been fined.

In your favour, though, is that you are allowed more than one name in the UK so the maiden name could still be an AKA. Let's see.

Hello @Maharg! I still have not received it. The last letter I got from UKVI was to have my biometrics enrolled in a local post office which I did four weeks ago. They did say it may take up to 8 weeks. I will definitely let you know once it is with me.

Thanks. I checked the form and there's no mention of sending the BRP so I'm guessing you don't need to, especially as you haven't heard anything.

Funny enough I just received a mail from them asking for my BRP card lol so will send that tomorrow and hopefully hear back sooner as to when they will send the new one.

Thanks. It's strange that they don't mention it in the requirements. Guess we'll send it then!

I thought you would have learned by now Graham, as far as the UKVI is concerned or the Philippine Embassy, "always expect the unexpected" :D

Its too easy for them to ask you to submit the BRP :)
