We obtained a Schengen Visa for my wife, to Portugal, last year.

    That's a great idea.

I thought you might have wanted to take a little time off from applying for visas after obtaining your Fiancee visa, you're obviously a glutton for punishment :)

Good luck with it and enjoy the holiday, wish I'd have thought of that

I will be spending a couple of weeks touring around the UK when the loved one arrives but to be honest I will probably be paying double that of what I would have paid for a foreign holiday,

The view outside our window is fantastic just now. But I admit, when you always have it, then it becomes not quite so special.

Could do with the sun setting on our side of the Island though.

It is expensive though compared with lets say, Portugal or Spain.

Yeah, you do get used to it in the end whatever the view.

Its easy to fall into the trap of paying extra for a seaview for an apartment you live in all year round.
