    Hi, First post

Recently met a girl in Philli and am thinking ahead, we want to take a trip abroad don't mind where (I'm from the UK) is there any downside in applying for a USA visitor visa, UK visitor visa and the European wide travel visa all at the same time. Just in the hope one will be approved ? :)

Also any idea which has best chance?

She has a low paying job, no assets or family dependants.

The only difficulty is that you will have to hand over the passport and a passport can only be in one place at a time.

Why bother with such long distance travel.

Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, (and other local countries...) can all be entered visa free by both of you.

Far easier and a lot more enjoyable as well.

Why are you looking at 3 of the more difficult tourist visas to obtain?

There are plenty of other countries you can travel to without the stress and uncertainty (and probability) of rejection.

If you wanted to show her a more western culture, Australia is far less challenging for a tourist visa application. It is also quite cheap for flights with Cebu Pacific and a few other low costs via Singapore.

Israel is quite a unique - and visa free - destination.

Several countries in South America would provide some great Kodak moments.

Thanks for the advice, didn't know Australia was easier I'll look into that. But I split my time between Portugal, UK and USA most the year so would be nice if she can join me while I'm in theses places for a holiday.

Not too thrilled by any of the visa free locations tbh.

Ive looked around and cant see much feedback about results of people (who are not married) applying for a Shengen European visa.

Can I not just pump like £5k into my gf's bank account over a period of time and would that be enough to get a visitor visa as it will cover the costs ? Or this is not enough alone to get granted ?

The visa officer (of any country) will still wonder where the money came from considering she has low paying job.

First, you need to think that filipinos are considered a high flight risk. Hence the suggestion of the other member to visit a country that doesnt require visa to build up her travel history.

Second, all those application will require her to apply to separate embassies from the phillipines. The main point of concern is to prove strong ties to philippines and enough funds to support herself during her stay in the uk, us or elsewhere. You might have read that majority of tourist visa from ph are rejected because of those two grounds.

Ok thanks for your points. Building up a travel history seems easy enough.

What about her applying for a work visa instead, anyone tried this route ?

To qualify for a work visa you need to qualify on salary and / or reserved occupation. Its called a tier 2 visa. Its aimed at engineers, scientists, medical people and Russian oligarchs

Not Russian oligarchs: they go for Tier 1 visas.

Is she a nurse or something skilled? If she is, then its easy for her to get a working visa. All she needs is the work experience and ielts (english exam) and she should be sorted.

Not sure of other field of work where its easy to get work visa.

STEM subjects do well also. The issue though is that someone has to cough up over £1k a year as well to employ you

She's not skilled labour, she just works in an office, she has a diploma though in computer science.

But if someone in UK will hire here I'm not sure how hard it is to be approved.

Try if you can find an employer. Most of the companies here are hiring people who can already work without the need for visa. They don't like dealing with immigration and visa stuff unless the position is very high and that they cant find someone to fill the position in.

Yes Ive looked into it more and it will be hard to find, shame I don't still have my company would have been an easy fix.

You started off wanting to organise a decent holiday with her, travelling around the UK, Europe and the United States.

Why are you now looking to fix up a fake job to import her into the UK?

    Just asking. :D

Haha good point I was just thinking out loud. I mean if I want her to live here I would just marry her.

Its tough I live 3 months in USA, 3 months in London, and 3 months in Asia each year atm. Haha not ideal to be with a Philli partner.

I really have no intent for her to stay forever unless we get married anyway it is really just to travel with me. Not that I'm above breaking rules.
