    Hi Ollie,

    And the other 3 months?

Yes, I can see your predicament.

Employers hand’s are tied in the U.K. They have to demonstrate that they are unable to find the employees that they need, in the U.K. And then it is only for those roles on the special exemption list that they have created. So typically, office and admin staff would not be included on that list.

So for example an employer would typically have to put an advert out to local people or nationally if need be. If after a reasonable length of time there were no takers and if the job falls within the government exemption list then the employer is permitted to look out side of the U.K. - pretty much along those lines.

I am not sure how current this list is but you can read it here:

Yes I read up on it, thanks for the link if I still had my business we could have probably got around it easy enough but oh well. We will travel to none visa places and build up savings and then take a shot at a visa app in 6 months time if all goes ok. Maybe she should start a business in the Philippines aswell I'm thinking instead of getting a better job there. Would buying a small plot of land help, its hard to say. Shame these golden visa's are so ****in much :(

Having a business and buying a land will help with proving her ties in Phil same as her job. But if she's only having small salary (without assets or even enough money in her account) and no travel history, would be hard for tourist visa.

You will have a problem with settlement then because you / she will not qualify under residency absence limits. Its a minefield

Hmm .. seems to me that you're for someone to keep you warm on chilly winter evenings. In which case you'll find it easier to be together in Singapore, Hong Kong or Malaysia, all of which have world-class hotels and are visa-free destinations. From your description of her circumstances, her applications for UK, US or Australia visit visas will not be successful.
