    Hi

I am trying to apply for a Non immigrant visa so I can fly to the Philippines during covid to see my newly born daughter . Philippine Embassy have sent my application back saying it's not been signed by a notary public official and Solicitors are not classed as notary public according to them . But I had it signed and stamped my a notary public official who was a solicitor , but they are not accepting this so I'm at a loss . The only notary public officials near me are solicitors firms , so I don't understand . Has anybody experienced this before ? And if so how do I get passed it ? as always thanks guys

Thanks for your reply . Yes the solicitor confirmed all this to me before she signed it then stamped it with her notary Public stamp . The Philippine Embassy have sent my application back stating that solicitors are not notary public but in Scotland the only people who are classed as notary public are solicitors , well some solicitors who have done the qualifications for it . So I don't know . When going on the website uve posted clicking the Scottish listing it comes up with solicitor firms

Maybe contact the Notaries Society to see what they think is the issue?
Then if suitable try contacting the embassy with all supporting proof (e-mails/letters) and see if the original response was made in error?

Seems that everything is in order except by accordance with the Philippine embassy, maybe you could/should get a letter from the Solicitors that says they are in fact a notary public, thats just about all you can do apart from getting another different Notary to counter sign the application. Goodluck hopefully you can sort it out so that you can fly over.

Hi thanks for your message , I've just got my application back and again it's been declined stating not notary public signed . This is the third time I have sent it and after speaking to a solicitor who advised me to also send it to foreign commonwealth office so they can confirm the notary who signed it before and add there stamp to it as well . So I did this and again they have declined it stating its not signed by notary public . It's getting beyond absolute joke now and Im ready to give up not going to make it for my daughter's first Christmas now I can't see anyway forward at all

Hi thanks for the reply . I just don't know anymore my application has been notary signed and by the COMMONWEALTH . So it can't be my application , I've been speaking to another person about it and he regons it's my child birth certificate because it is only a copy from the clinic and not from the PSA . But we can't register my daughter because the authority in the Philippines have said I need to sign this copy from the clinic in person in front of them , then it can be sent to the PSA . Does this sound correct ? How am I suppose to be in the Philippines to sign it if I cant get there is this the reason my application is being knocked bk ? Yes I have included all the necessary documents needed . This has been the response bk each time of being declined
Hi thanks for your reply , I just don't know anymore . My application has been notary signed + by the COMMONWEALTH . I was talking to another person and he said it might be the birth certificate . The birth certificate I have for my daughter is not from the PSA it is the copy you get from the clinic where she was born that I submitted . I know this has to be signed by me then sent to the PSA to register her , but they have said I have to physically be there in the Philippines and sign it in front of them . But how am I suppose to do that if I cant get a visa to go there . Do u think this is why it's being knocked bk ? They don't give u a proper explanation on the reasons a part from a printed piece of paper with a tick next to the reason it's been declined and mine is - APPLICATION IS NOT NOTARIZED BY NOTARY PUBLIC . SOLICITORS ARE NOT NOTARY PUBLIC . But my application has been signed and stamped by the foreign COMMONWEALTH how can it not be accepted . So I'm thinking maybe it is the birth certificate because its not PSA copy only the clinic copy .
