I think its about time China reined little fat boy in. I don't think he will seriously have a go at attempting to bomb Guam or anywhere near it, but I suspect the consequences would not be in NK's favour if he tried.

He is reported as being educated in Switzerland but university attendance was at an officer training school in Pyongyang.

There is some confusion as to whether the person in Switzerland was him or his brother who was recently murdered.

Where does he get the money and resources to keep funding all the weapon tech?
About 75% comes from un sanctioned coal and unrefined ore resource trade with China..The rest is dodgy weapons deals in Africa and most of the balance is probably from selling fake $$ Bill`s and Viagra pills world wide via various channels..
That toothless tiger (UN) know this stuff but as usual are a powerless and useless world institution and so of course cannot react in a meaningful way.
Best hope is if Trump just does a huge preemptive strike and levels the whole country with real Nukes there by totally neutralizing the threat... Before it`s too late.

There's not a lot of plutonium, if any, in the fallout, there are a fair few fission products like strontium and caesium isotopes that have long half-lives and you don't want a lot of them raining down washed out of the atmosphere by the next typhoon .

Can you even believe we are having this conversation?

I've been expecting the end of the world since I was in my late teens, every new day is a pleasant surprise, I am intrinsically a pessimist on some subjects on the basis that when the worst doesn't happen it makes me happy for a short while :)

But yeah I think NK will use them, I don't think they are rational, I also think this US administration would use them whereas I think previous administrations would have retaliated with massive conventional force even after a nuclear explosion on US territory.

The potential for escalation beyond the Korean peninsula is where the incredulity about having this conversation starts to creep in.

Actually I should correct myself as that map is more or less sea level the 30,000 ft and greater view does not look so good

    https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/250hPa/orthographic=-241.05,17.84,530

And the 70,000 ft and above view looks pretty dodgy :)

    https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/70hPa/orthographic=-241.05,17.84,530

if you go as high as the map allows movement is pretty global :D

There is a BBC article on an app called FaceApp at the moment, I'm not going to comment on the article as it sounds like the developers showed a really dreadful lack of taste in building this thing but there was one somewhat amusing tweet quoted where someone had put a picture of Trump through the range of ethnicity filters the developers had provided, picture is below the link.

To be honest I don't know if it is amusing or terrifying.
