I noticed this last night they were reporting winds of nearly 15,000 miles per hour as well in many many cities all over the globe, maybe they were forecasting a doomsday asteroid strike

Maybe it's an option in the software

That was a human, now you'd be blaming a program or a programmer and they are faceless
