It is quite a debilitating condition ms. quickwitted :D

One knows that the other people are not aware or at fault in any way at all but that does not stop you wanting to kill them and mash them into a fine grained pulp because of slurping and smacking of lips :D

Ninety odd percent of the time I am fine around family but anyone that chews gum should be turned into a cartoon character with smoke coming out of the place where their head used to be :D

I have never eaten as much KFC in my entire life as in recent years. This is entirely down to my partner lol. However I do like the fillet they do so no bones. But am also concious of the batter and the fact that it is fried, so I often have their burrito.

Then I wash it down with a Diet Coke and a diet ice cream along with the diet fries. :D

Asawa is exactly the same. She does the same woth chicken feet (adidas) and ends up with a pile of little bones. She says thats the tastiest meat on a chicken, those closest to the bones.

Dedication that. Asawa i think wont be in the role much longer. She does two 13 1/2 shifts at the weekend and deals with the two kids in the week. As i say she may be resigning, she is looking at doing an honours in chemistry.

PAL are fine - daily flights well priced and a Boeing 777. They have 10 of these. Food on plane is passable, and you get 2 meals. Entertainment system was good, but I tend to use Netflix on my tablet. Decent leg space too. Only issue is, there are no offices in the U.K. so if you need to contact them you have to call Manila or the US.

Actually PAL has six Boeing 777s, not ten, which are all 300 series (it no longer has any of its 200 series 777s).

As for being "well priced", they certainly do operate the cheapest direct, non-stop flight between the UK and the Philippines but there again, they also operate the most expensive! Other routings are often cheaper and may be quicker - that's because PAL doesn't overfly China and thus take full advantage of the great circle route between Manila and Europe (which enters Chinese airspace at Hong Kong).

And finally it does have an office in the UK - Tel: +44 (0)207 644 6126!

Unfortunately that office only deals with bookings and basic queries . I had a query about my price (after booking our price increased online, with the web page saying we had not paid for one ticket ) and they were unable to help.

PAL have 10 777s. We flew on RP-c7782 a 3 month old plane.

1 stop to Davao, a 3 hour lay over and, whilst there were cheaper options, those options were offering more stops and, for me, more stress.

Just to confirm the 10 777s in service

    1) RP-C7772
    2) RP-C7773
    3) RP-c7774
    4) RP-C7775
    5) RP-C7776
    6) RP-C7777
    7) RP-C7778
    8) RP-C7779
    9) RP-C7781
    10) RP-C7782

The latter two are just 3 months old.

They do the routes to San Francisco, LA, Toronto, Vancouver and London. I believe (but may be wrong) that these flights are daily, and because each return trip takes more than 24 hours there are 2 planes on each route (I.e as the London flight heads to Manila, there is a plane already a few hours into the flight from Manila to London)

I stand corrected but in my defence I would point out that the airline's own information shows six such aircraft - https://www.philippineairlines.com/TravelInformation/BeforeYouFly/PALAircraft/Boeing777-300ER

The Wiki article you cited is, I believe, incorrect. PAL intended to launch its London service using B777-300ER aircraft but none were available on the lease market but there were some 200 series available. The airline leased three - or maybe four - 200s for six months having received assurance from its leasing partner, that 300s would by then be available. In the event, there was a delay in delivering the first of the 300s and PAL had to use newly-delivered A330s on that route (and others).
I'm told that PAL rotates three aircraft on its London service as there may be insufficient time to turn around the inbound flight from London for that day's departure. I'm also told that PAL continues to operate a daily flight to Cebu and Davao using a 747 to boost the airfreight capacity.

I hope you and yours enjoyed your time in Davao and no doubt you visited the Crocodile Park and the Philippine Eagle sanctuary ;).

Wow , that's going back a bit , I remember those Rothman cars . I was working as as a sales rep at that time , and used to see them regularly . Nice memories of younger days .

It was a long time ago, (I was 21) ...but you know what the best thing about that car was for me, a young impressionable lad ? It was a MK 3 Cortina. cloud90fz.gif

I was later to own several, up to MK5s . I loved those big soft, comfy, but simple cars. I put 3 litre Capri V6s into a couple of them ... a 2000XL estate and a 2000 GXL saloon. Wish I'd hung on to that GXL. :(

,If I remember correctly it was around 1974 , when most reps were driving Cortinas . Yes , some of those old cars are worth big money now .

A weird thing is, I have a terrible memory now, but I can actually remember the registration number on my company car , which helped me work out the year .
