    Hi Everyone

I understand there are restrictions as to what one may bring into the UK, specially fruits outside the EU soil. We all know veeery sweet yellow mangos (fresh) from Cebu Philippines are not abundant in the UK, so am planning to take at least 3 for the love of my life. Has anyone of you tried bringing them in without any trouble?

    Thanks
    Shang :)

When we come back to the UK we just buy lots of bags of dried mango from the supermarkets there, even though they are very sweet.

We bought yellow mango from Asda the other week. It was nice, ripe and sweet but it was Thai and a slightly different taste than Cebu mango, £2 each. I always try to bring a bag of Cebu dried mango back

    UK Government Rules State:
    ------------------------------
    Outside the EU
You can’t bring meat, meat products, milk, dairy products or potatoes into the UK from most countries outside the EU.

You can bring up to 2 kilograms (kg) of fruit and vegetables (except potatoes) into the UK as long as they are:
    • in personal baggage
    • for you and your family or friends (ie you can’t sell them)
    • free from signs of pests and diseases
    You can also bring:
    • egg products, eggs and honey (up to 2kg in total)
    • fish (up to 20kg in total or 1 fish, whichever is the heaviest)
Any fish you bring in must be fresh and gutted, cooked, cured, dried or smoked.
    ----------------------------
    https://www.gov.uk/bringing-food-animals-plants-into-uk/food

    So you can bring in:
    • 2 kg of Mangos
    • 2 kg of eggs
    • and a 20 kg shark. :like:

My Mum-in-law just brought us some last Sunday when she arrived from holiday in the Philippines. It was oooh sooo good! :like:

She wrapped it with loads of paper.

My mouth is watering, to be honest! I already finished all the mangoes all by myself. Hubby didn't bother cause he knows it's for the baby! :p

Yep they weren't the usual mangoes where they have many in the cardboard box. They were individually trayed and wrapped in a protective cover as they were softer than the usual green mangoes. Not sure if they were labelled as their "extra special" range
