I've been looking for a Professional Wedding Photographer to capture photographs from Bridal Preparation up to the evening party. Lowest price I found is around 850 GBP. I'd love to find somebody who can offer lower price but quality shots.

Wedding Venue is in Sutton Coldfield.

Our wedding photos were utter s***e

If and when we recreate the day in this hemisphere, I have a friend who is also very talented, and she would be my first and only choice.

Lives in Derby. A full day package is more than you have been quoted, but I don't know if that's what you would want. I'm not sure I would want a photographer there ALL day, mate or not.

Anyway, it's a phone call, and I'm sure that if you chose her, she wouldn't disappoint. Wedding photos are too important to trust any old pleb to take them.

I would definitely recommend our wedding photographer, Monika Szmidt - http://www.monikasportraitphotography.com/. We paid her 650 quid but that's already her platinum package

    - Full day coverage up to 10 hours creative photography
    - Complimentary initial consultation and welcome pack
    - Venue visit and planning meeting
    - Free Engagement photo shoot
    - Bride preparation.
    - Groom & Groomsmen.
    - Bride arrival
    - Wedding ceremony
    -Traditional portraits
    - Bride portrait
    - Bride & Groom portrait
    - Bride & Groom with families
    - Wedding party group
    - Cutting of the cake
    - Wedding reception
    - First dance
    - Fully edited/airbrushed wedding photos
    - All full resolution wedding photos on USB
    - 20 pages Photo album
    - A sneak preview of your photos 3 days after wedding
    - Beautiful on-line gallery with your wedding photos
    - Interest free online payments

I'm not sure how much she charges now for it but check her Facebook as she often provides discounts. You can also check Wowcher or Groupon for discounted wedding photography packages. You can then read reviews online for these photographers. This is one of the things that we did splurge on because in the years to come it will always be nice to see pictures of our special day.

@joi1991 - One thing that we also love about Monika is that she provided us with all of the pictures that she took on our wedding - all edited. Not a lot of photographers do this. They will only edit a couple of hundred photos that they will provide you. She took about a thousand pictures and I am very happy with every single one of them. If it were another photographer, they will only give you 200 photos that they feel/think are good but you wouldn't necessarily share that opinion. So better to have every single one of them.

Monika also provided us with all the photos she took during the engagement photo shoot.

This looks like a very nice deal. When I see what others offer, they have limited number of photos to shoot and some are just saved in flash drive no print outs. I'll check her facebook. thanks @firew0myn And I have seen some of your wedding photos. She must be an ace!

Thank you. But 1500 GBP is too much. :(

Not wanting to sound out of touch with all this. but a thousand+ photos is a hell of a lot of photo albums stacked up on the coffee table.

Surely you just want to keep the best dozen or so pictures, the ones that give you the most happiness...

LOL! Yes, we didn't have everything printed out. She will provide them as soft copies anyway. But we get to print out a lot of them and gave them to our guests together with thank you cards. :)

I'm not looking for printouts because my fiancé and I agreed we better purchase a quality printer because there will be a lot of printing for wedding DIYs to be done. :)

Wedding photos are something I would cherish and will be something I look back to when I grow old. hehe

@joi1991 She won't print anything out for you unless you purchase her platinum package wherein you will get the wedding album. As I said she will provide soft copies. That's just it. We had ours printed out via Truprint since we had vouchers for them - 3quid for 300. prints.

Yes. I gulped a bit at that too. Perhaps she is getting famous. She certainly has the talent.

Mystery solved. She is off to the Canary Islands on a photoshoot project for a very famous American magazine (she does SCUBA and shipwreck stuff too), and so, put the price on her website to dissuade people from booking/cover transport costs if someone was daft enough/determined enough to have her take their photos.

Hi @firew0myn ! I have sent Monika a message and I learned she would charge an additional 8O quid for tranposrtation cost since the wedding wouldn't be held in Manchester. I hope it covers all the future travels she would incur including meeting us and the engagement shoot.

I have seen you gallery in her blog... Lovely photographs! The wedding venue is majestic. Allow me to add that your hubby is a look-alike of Nick Frost. :)

Lol! Only if you make Nick a redhead. Monika is great! I will see her hopefully next week to work on our wedding album. Let me know if you need me to relay anything to her.

I suspect that the £80 is for one trip as some businesses charge 45 pence per mile+

You could always go up to Manchester to see her, and meet @firew0myn at the same time :)

Well if that's the case then I have to find one near the wedding venue. She will meet us more than once and it'll all sum up to like what other photographers offer.
    I liked her package though.

I suggested my F that we just travel to meet her before the big day but he didn't want to do the engagement photo shoot in Manchester saying the place has no significance for him. lol I must find a nice spot in Manchester to get him there.

    I'd love to meet @firew0myn
