    Hi all.

I'll be staying in the philippines for 40 something days.
I have my return ticket of course.

But, will philippine airlines allow me to board the plane in Heathrow with a return ticket that is over 40 days after the departure date if I don't have a visa?

Because I'll be staying longer than 30 days so I don't understand how it works with them.

    Thankyou.

Philippine airlines should be well aware of the fact that you can extend your stay past 30 days, you should be fine as long as you have a return ticket, if you are applying for a 59 day visa in advance as per your other post then there is no issue at all, however you can extend on arrival if you want I've done it before, although I don't know where the immigration office is in NAIA terminal 3 but you can always extend at the BI office in Manila.

OK great, thanks again. I'm really good at worrying and stressing about stuff like this. Thanks for clearing my troubled mind. And yeah, this specific post is due to the fact that the philippine embassy in London has abysmal reviews. So that made me a little worried they'd not send it in time or something.

Reviews of embassy are not good and can expect to spend a lot of time queuing unless arrive very early. That said when doing registration of marriage the staff we dealt with were very helpful and had no complaints apart from time had to spend waiting.

We went earlier in the year to renew my wife's passport. Cost over £100 travel costs. Why can't they do it online ?

Got there early ish already a massive queue.which is something I just don't do.

Wife got her ticket..and a seat and prepared to wait in the most god awful human stink. I went for a long walk.

Luckily someone gave up waiting and gave her an earlier ticket..and lots of others had buggered off too..so her turn came up much sooner.

We hadn't previously notified our marriage...so we're expecting a problem..but there wasn't.staff were very helpful.

That doesn't sound pleasant atall. Might have to take a sick day off work to get this handled. Might even end up sick when I leave so that wouldn't be a complete lie.

My fiancée went to the city Hall and they told her to send the marriage application form to me in the UK and apparently I have to go to Philippine embassy in London and tell them to stamp it. I asked her to go back and find out if that's 100% necessary and the lady said it is. The thing is. I can't find any information about this stamp anywhere. Nor does any guide say to do it. And even so. If the philippine embassy gives this stamp. Why can't I get it in the philippines? It makes no sense. Did you have to do this? Or do you know what she's talking about?

I married my wife in the Philippines in 2015 and I never went near the Philippines embassy in London or any other countryto get anything stamped.
here is a link about obtaining the Affidavit free to marry off the internet and the procedure

    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/marriage-in-the-philippines,

In brief when I went over to marry we did it in less than a fortnight
While in UK I printed off the affidavit and arranged an appointment on the site to attend the British Embassy in Manila
As my wife lives a good 6+hours from Manila we booked the appointment the day after I arrived in Manila and hoteled the night between me landing and the appointment
You arrive at the embassy and show security your appointment confirmation, once inside you sit in a room with others and wait for your name to be called, once at the desk the admin person goes through your id and checks you have completed the affidavit, you are then called into a small room on your own (takes about 2 minutes)and you will either and entirely upto you swear on the bible or swear a declaration that you are free to marry.
I had with me my divorce papers, passport driver licence the affidavit and one more bit of paper with my name and address on,part with the money and you get presented with a piece of paper that you present to the clerk in the town hall in the location you are going to marry in,
All in all the process takes about 10 minutes, and dont be late they call your name twice and then move on (couple before us were late and missed out)
Crossed the road outside the embassy and met the kids in Jollibee

Thankyou very much for your response. Looks like the lady who my fiancée seems to think is in charge of our process is overcomplicating things then, I'm going there anyway to try and get visa and I will ask them while I'm there. But if they are as clueless as me we'll just have to go to a different person at the town hall. You've given me a good idea about how the embassy operates so I appreciate that. Thankyou.

I have it all filled in for the most part. My only question would be regarding occupation.

I'm employed now but it's very unlikely I will be unemployed when I go to the philippines. I'd be able to get that same job back when I'm back in the UK but as of when I'm there. I'll be unemployed. Will that have any negative implications? And would I need to write u
UNEMPLOYED? They wouldn't call my occupation if I wrote down where I did work would they? Thanks again.

Occupation is how you earn your money as opposed to employer. E.g. engineer, sailor, pilot as opposed to Rolls Royce, P&O, Easy jet. Can be unemployed and still be an engineer, sailor or pilot as that is your occupation when employed and the field you would expect to get a job in when get new job.
