    Hi All,

Do I need a cemonar certificate (British Citizen) to get married in Philippines. My partner has hers but now they are asking that I need one as well.

    Yup..........

Then you have to take it to the embassy to have it sorted out, validated, whatever they do, not forgetting to make an appointment before hand...

You don't have to take to Embassy anymore apparently. Rules changed due to Covid.

Is a Cenomar from the PSA still required for the UK citizen? I am going to marry again next year, and when I have tried to apply for a Cenomar on the PSA website, it asks me for a valid Philippines ID which I do not have.

Is an affidavit notarised locally sufficient? Would the affidavit be the same as a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage and a Certificate of No Impediment?

I remember from my previous marriage how confusing the marriage process is! (or maybe it is just confusing to a simpleton like me)

Thanks for your reply. This can be done locally in the Philippines if I am not mistaken?

Sorry guys, expanding a little more. I am in UK and have decided to marry in Philippines instead of doing the Fiancé visa. Two questions.
    1. I know my divorce absolute paper needs Apostille. Does birth certificate need also (I am getting mixed messages on this)
    2. The Affidavit of singleness thingy - there is a template on the UK Gov.co.uk website. Do we print, complete and then get notorised locally in Philippines ?

    thanks in advance

when I married in the Philippines there was no Apostille reuired, my divorce papers had to have the UK court stamp on though and that is all, when I presented the original copy of my Birth Certificate this was fine too, no red ribbon no lawyers no apostille,
Yes print and complete the affidavit and hand it in at the local office
