Hi guys. I just recently got my settlement visa approved. My cfo appointment will be on the 8th of February and the validity of my visa starts on the 1st of March which is obviously I don't get the sticker straight away. My question is..do I need to do something about my passport like changing status from single to married? Obviously I'm not changing my last name as I'm the husband. At the same time my passport is valid until January 2019. Where do I renew it if I'm in the UK by the time of expiration? Thank you

No need to change anything in your passport.

Renew it at the Embassy in London.

You'll get the sticker as well since you already have your visa on the day of your seminar.

Since your name is not an issue, no need to update the passport.
I'm not sure with your visa since as far as I know CFO waits til your visa is valid before they issue the sticker. But they will still give you the certificate. @Chicksisweetie didn't get the sticker the last time as her visa is not yet valid.

Is that normal to get the visa start date a month after being issued?

It depends what you state on your visa application, you can be more accurate in your planning if you use the 10 day premium service as opposed to the regular visa service which could take up to three months before you get the decision.

They will follow the date you put on the online application under intended date of arrival in the UK.

Premium service was very expensive and wasn't ready at the time. Now got the house all sorted and the wait is killing me. Put the paperwork in 28/12/2016 so up to 30 working days now. Any idea what is the average?

There is no way to track it right?

There's no way to track it but you can ask for update via email and you'll receive a generic reply but not really helpful.

I know a few people who just got their visas last week and only waited for 32 days, 35 days and 38 days so in theory you should have yours anytime soon. I won't set your hopes high as it still depends how straightforward your case can be.

Thanks for that, yes just read a recent post at 37 working days which puts us at this Friday but then another at 45 working days which is an awful thought. Told Tina to go church and pray!

You just never know. I got mine in 42 days, so it could really be anytime. You'll both be in my prayers. Wish you the best of luck and hope you'll get what you want very soon. :)

The decision on your UK visa application with reference number GWFxxxxxxxxx has been made on 2/15/2017 2:32 PM. If you opted for courier delivery at the time of submission, your passport will be delivered to your chosen address. Alternatively, you may collect your passport at the VAC from 14:00 – 16:00 Monday – Friday except on Embassy declared holidays.

33 days, fingers crossed for the outcome.

    YESSSSS.

Start thinking of CFO now, does the original paperwork come with the passport?

Tracked the package and it is on hold for collection in Cagayan-De-Oro!! Apparently Gingoog is too far to deliver despite the ticket stating door to door. Not sure how it can be to far for a delivery company but no one to complain too. 8 hour round bus trip on Monday now, still don't know the outcome

Wow that's a shame. I did pick up mine at Cagayan de Oro too but I'm only one and a half hour away from it. I know Ginoog is on the other side so that's far away.

Yes they only have afternoon sessions. She needs to be there by 8 am to fill up some forms. So basically she'll be there the whole day.

Oh thank for that, it just says 2 hours early so was looking at flights to get her there for 12.00, she will have to stay 2 nights now, flight times are not very helpful. I had thought she had to be there at 7.00 am for 9.00 start which is why queried the afternoon time
