Just a quick question, @Mattecube - has your wife had to renew her Philippines passport since arriving in the UK?

My wife's Philippines passport will expire before the end of the 5-year route, so we were intending to get the new one in her married name (as another form of ID).
Although we have until October 2021 before her next FLR(M) is needed, it is proving problematic (partly due to Covid-19 'lockdown') getting confirmation that the UK marriage has been registered in the Philippines, so she can get the new passport in her married name.
I am beginning to think it might just be easier to forget about the name change in the passport, which expires about 4 months after the next FLR(M) is due (Feb. 2022). If I understand your earlier Post correctly, UKVI will not be too concerned if some documentary evidence is in her Maiden (unmarried) name and some is in her married name when applying for the second 2.5 year FLR(M)???

Hi, hoping you and your good lady are well and enjoying life together.
In short yes my wife has had to renew her passport since she has been in the UK.
We are now approaching our I ILR application date and to date her passport remains in her previous name and will do so till she is ready to apply to become a British citizen.
To date we have had no issues supplying letters as proof of living together in her previous name, in joint names (married) and in my name and her previous name.
One of the reasons we chose not to change her passport name is that her daughter is here also (to old to adopt) but we took the view that it was better mum and daughter had the same name throughout the process
( we will never know if it was necessary or not)
Also with travel arrangements and visa application there never appeared to be a good time in terms of passport being away to update into my name.
    Hope this helps

my wife renewed her phili passport last year--at the embassy ( sheer joy )---using her former married name. thats the name she uses all the while--especially for her all important Facebook a/c. she did not want all and sundry back home knowing she had got divorced / annulled and had remarried.

not sure what will happen next year when she applies for ILR, then citizenship ( maybe )

I believe she can keep her passport in her maiden name.

When the time DOES come for my wife to renew/change her name on her passport - I'm thinking now this is less urgent/important than I previously thought - I'm not sure which I dread more... driving into London, or using public transport, to get to the Embassy!

we went by coach--nat express--from portsmouth to victoria--then tube to trafalgar square. travel costs were about a 100 quid.the journeys were no bother at all. the hassle is hanging about in that dungeon they call an embassy. UK prisons are more welcoming.

    UPDATE
    =======
Just thought I would give an update on our wait for news from PSASerbilis about the delivery of the Marriage Registration/Certificate from the Philippines, to enable renewal of passport - with name change...

Wife received an email this morning to say Fedex has picked up a parcel from PSASerbilis - expect delivery by Wednesday. At last...!
