Changing Job during application?

    Hi All,

This is a theoretical question however I thought I would ask so I know where I stand.

I currently earn around £19,800 a year working in complaints. This is just enough for the financial requirement for my spouse visa application. I have now got an interview on Friday for a new complaints job which is closer to home and paying around £26,000

If I was to get offered the job its likely I wouldn't start until August due to notice period and also travelling to Phil for our civil wedding in june/july.

My question was say if I applied for the visa at the end of July, would changing job straight after affect the application or would common sense be applied due to the wage increase etc if I send a copy of the contract? (If I was to be offered the job haha)

    Tricky one!
Any checks UKBA wanted to carry out with your employer would be difficult albeit your current employer could confirm the information you have supplied to be accurate.
But your new employer could confirm your new contract and pay structure,But you have no employment history with your potential new employer.
If they made a job offer can you negotiate a later start date to after you got the visa?

Potentially, however the other issue is ideally the mrs wants to come early 2020 haha!

But I think I read on my other thread that you can specify a date when applying or at least request one? So I could potentially try and get the visa done early then change job

If she wants to come here 2020 why not take the job then apply the only adjustment you would then have to make is provide 12 months wage slips and a new contract letter

Would she still be able to come in say January 2020?

And is that 12 from former employer and the new contract?

Thanks that would make most sense.

Can I just request January when applying?

    Thanks for your help!

If you wanted a date in January apply late October and request a date!
Yes 12 months from your application date so new employer would provide some e.g. August to October and current employer to provide pre August.

Hi Sir @bigmac i’m following all your posts and it really helps us to understand the process of visa application. Though, we didn’t started anything except from planning.
I have a question related to @guitarfreak question. My partner just recently resigned from her company for almost 3 2 decades i am currently here in the Philippines and working.

Our plan is i will follow her this year and get married.
With the help of ur posts, we have noted the financial and accommodation requirements. She is confident she would meet the financial and accommodation requirement. However, upon reading @guitarfreak post, made me also think if there will no problem when we started our application.
My question now Sir, she will be moving in Other place and work. Her last work from her previous company was May 2019, and she might start working again probably around July.
Is there would be any problem in meeting the required 6mos paylips? Or can we merge or combine, i mean like last 3 or 4 mos payslip from her previous company and latest payslip from her new company to comply with the requirement? If our target date of application would be in October this year?

    Appreciate any response from you.
    Thank you

As far as i think..she has to show a total gross income of £18600 for the year up to the time of the application..so provided she earned that amount in the time period she meets the earning requirement. The difficulty would be if she didnt meet the target but only pro rata for the months she works. Hopefully others will comment.

    Is she a nurse?
If so can she bring you here on PBS as a dependant partner?
That aside I would agree with @bigmac comment she will have to supply 12 months pay slips and meet the financial criteria. There is no pro rata calculation.
    Good luck

Points Based System because your partner professionis I believe on the UK shortage jobs list she may be able to bring you across on a tier 2 visa which is slightly different to a general dependent visa.
I have copied the link today on another thread I will find it and post it here.
