    That is incredibly sad.

    Heart-breaking watching something like that.

Yeah there is a certain country a few thousand miles to the west of us where a rather sizable part of their population suffer that problem.

Another extension to lockdown, should have finished today, extended to 31st May. 60 and over are confined to the house and an alcohol ban for everyone on Negros Oriental.

No new cases for two months and only 4 corona virus deaths on Negros Oriental.

Home brew kits must have sold well, if they were for sale there.

Given the monopolised brewing industry there I doubt they have those ;)

And more to the point it might be hard to keep the temperature low enough all day for the fermentation :)

We have one of those. It works well. I often tell my daughter I am about to shoot her with it, when we use it on her.

Do you have an in ear device as well for calibration John.

Skin heat is not core temperature.

I should say I would like one of those guns, I've been thinking about getting one but I can't tell what brand is technically good, I don't trust Amazon reviews on this because they don't seem to sell professional equipment

Kids told me they are not going back to school until August now.

I won't get into the politics but I do sympathise with you Jim and I do understand and I accept your point on this.

Ours is the Boots version. I used one on my son when he was a boy, 20 years ago. We have another. They are great for use on smaller kids. They seem to be reliable and accurate. You point and “shoot” at the forehead.

I will look for the advert for it...

I cannot see the version we have ( bought it about 5 years ago ) but the one in the link looks the closest though not exactly the same carcass.

As it says, no need to wake your baby, ideal for checking someone who is asleep.

I bought an in ear thermometer 16 years ago in the Philippines for James and I found it very accurate, untrained people like Ana could use it and get a reliable indication if the child was sick, we had it for years we still have it but it errors a lot now.

The ones I have bought in recent years feel less reliable, I should get an old style mercury thermometer or even an alcohol one to use as calibration but they can't get core temperature like an in ear device.
