Now that Christmas is safely and surely behind us, we can relax and take stock of how we spent (money) the holiday and where. Treats given, treat received and what you consider a total waste of space and effort in a Christmas present from your nearest and dearest, ignoring that fact that the "thought" doesn't always count... But irritates... Go on, guys, be candid, but you have the right to remain silent even if the answers won't be used against you...
A friend gave me an Amazon gift card. I used it to part pay for a service kit for my Dyson vacuum cleaner..I've had it years and it was almost useless. It now performs like a new machine....so saved me spending £200 odd on a new one.
A month in Phnom Penh, an amazing place, one of my favourites. J loved the shopping at central market, having her nails painted, and the food (refused to try the spiders). Locals kept mistaking her for Khmer, and were surprised she could not speak Cambodian. Weather was a bit better than in the UK.
My boyfriend has given me a return flight to spend Christmas and New Year in Philippines since I wasn't able to come to England, a chanel perfume and a gold earrings. A swarovski necklace and earrings from his mum and a bracelet from his auntie and uncle. It was Merry indeed!
Mine was my first Christmas ever alone. My newly ex wife and daughter and in laws did what we used to do and Mica was in Cayman. I had Christmas dinner with my sister and mum. It was their first Christmas without my dad who died in June. I would have been happy for it not to have happened, including my birthday on the 26th. Classed as worst Christmas ever. However, best New Year Ever. This Christmas ( 2018 ) will be epic though.
One gift I got was a ball maze, small version of a mousetrap set up in a perspex ball a hundred traps. You roll a ballbearing along the frame trying to avoid the traps in a set order toll you reach the middle. Good fun but frustrating only a tenner I think.
God knows I dropped enough hints........ With everybody... Got branded jumpers, sweaters, socks, a bottle of Campari and other unmentionable items... It has been eons since I received something useful that I actually asked for...... Grin and bear...........
I received several toiletries, body sprays, and perfumes. Do I smell that bad? Though I have also received gym attires and accessories, protein shakes and other supplements. I'd rather have these kinds of gifts that I actually use.
