Interestingly we have a page on the forum titled Jolibee in London. It’s one of the most Googled pages we have!

I thought London was a dead cert to get to the post first.

Perhaps troubled by the (current or proposed) law regarding the listing of ingredients in 'restaurant' meals ?

Brexit might very well have something to do with it. All restauranteurs are moaning in the UK at the moment although to be fair not all of it is to do with the refererendum result. People aren't spending like they used to. The staff are vaporising, and pissed off about the lower exchange rate, many have gone to other places in Europe where the pay is better, people don't spit at them on the bus, and are now working there instead. Ingredients are costing more. There is an overall climate of uncertainty. Looking about, there really isn't much evidence that the much-trumpeted London Jollibee is even going forward at all. Despite all the fanfare, 30 months later they've announced no opening date, and nobody even knows where the restaurant is supposed to be. I hope they don't cancel it because a lot of British Filipinos will be disappointed if they do, but it looks like they just might give it up as a bad job and open the second Jollibee restaurant in Europe somewhere else.

I thought Brexit was supposed to promote trading relations between the U.K. and other countries outside the EU?

There doesnt have to be a political element to Brexit but personally im not so sure it would have any impact on jollibee

I have never eaten Jollibee products but the word on the street is that a huge number of Filipinos residing in the U.K. are positively salivating Pavlov style, at the thought of Jollibee arriving in the U.K.

I have eaten Filipino spaghetti bolognese so I imagine the sugary taste might be similar?

the UK Jollibee opening is definitely taking its time. When they first announced it back in 2015, they were saying that were going to open it the next year, in 2016, two years ago. And the Italy one wasn't supposed to open, until the year after that. London was definitely the one that was supposed to be the first Jollibee in Europe to open.

well it hasn't worked out like that. Milanos can now get Chickenjoy and rice whenever they feel like it - whilst Londoners are having to wait.

And the bad weather as well, all the snow.
Guess that must be Brexit as well.
    I blame the Russians.
