Just submitted my citizenship application today and was told it will take 6 to 8 weeks up to 3 to 6 months and when it's ready I have to take my oath within 90 days if not I have to reapply again.
off for 2 months holiday then back again I never exited UK since I arrived so there's no absences to count! But was told since I covered the 3 years period without any absences it should be alright! Keeping my finger crossed to have it done anytime soon! Then will inform you guys the timeline of citizenship processing! :)

    Hi Mystica,
Did you make your application through the Nationality Checking Service (NCS) and keep your passport?
Applications made via this route are processed much faster (statistically)

I understand that in these days the processing time for naturalisation has been extended somewhat.

Yes! Yes! and Yes! Micawber! :boing:
I used National Checking Services (NCS) and the lady who assisted me was very positive and nice! :cheer:
she saw I haven't had any absences as I never exit UK since I arrived here last July 2009.
she said this may help for the processing to be faster.
    I hope so! :dream:

The thing is, I don't believe in trying to save a couple of hundred pounds if this can help me to speed up the processing. Like when I applied for my ILR I did not use the postal services because, I'd rather pay extra to know if there's anything more I need with my application, rather than sitting and waiting when would I receive an answer, if my application went through or not! If it is approved or not! I hate holding my breath! :frust:
As a result last year, I had my ILR within 2 hours! :cheer:
If only they will approved Citizenship within a week or so I wouldn't mind paying extra! Fortunately, they have the NCS system now!
    Keeping my finger crossed! :england:

Well done, I believe you made the best decision. :like:
Hopefully your approval will arrive soon.

I too always believe that if the budget is available, then following the route of least stress is very well worth it.

    Keep us informed Mystica !

Yup! sure it wil! make sure you use NCS as my friend and her family uses it too and theirs took 11 weeks and mine is 10 weeks only! Some of my friend uses postal and some of them, their documents came back as lacking of supporting documents! :( so it is always better to play safe with your application as NCS know exactly what documents you should submit! :D Good luck!

correction! my friend just sent me the scan of my citizenship invitation it was sent last 12 Oct. 2012 so it only took 9 weeks processing via NCS! also it helps if you haven't got any absences in the UK for 3 years as what I did! I only went out for holiday after I fullfilled the 3 years staying in UK! :vhappy:

    Great news !!

Your immigration journey is almost complete.

Just a suggestion, but it may be better to secure your British Passport before you apply to re-acquire Philippine Citizenship as just prior to the Philippine Oath Taking they will cancel your existing Philippine passport.

Anyway congratulations and start now to practise singing our National Anthem Hehehe

Hi! Micawber, I have attended my friend and her family's oath taking in Croydon and they did not sing the National Anthem! :D so I am not nervous to do mine! :vhappy:
    Thanks! :)

Nice little piece of info that, my wife wants to keep her phils passport now so it'll be easier to get in and out of the philippines.

Thats even better news then. i'll definately look into this NCS checking service. My wife has only had about 3 holidays out to the Phils since she came to the UK and they where for relatively short periods of time anyway so hopefully come the new year we should be in the same position as you.:like:

She should be fine! the good thing with NCS it's highly unlikely for your application to fail as they know exactly what requirements you need to submit! Good luck! she'll be travel hassle free soon too! :D God speed!
