We are now only days away from submitting my wife's 2nd, 2.5-year FLR(M) Visa application and - despite reading & re-reading this question several times - I'm still unsure whether to answer Yes or No?

"Is this the first time you have applied for a partner route, or an extension, with your current partner (including as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner)?"

    TIA

    The answer is yes.

What the question is looking for is if someone had previously applied with the same partner and been refused, you haven't so yes it's your first time.

Thanks for taking the time @Mattecube ...

I'm guessing the explanation for this - and many other questions - is buried deep somewhere in Appendix FM...?
