I've got some photos of people selling rats at the side of the street in Sanya, Southern China in 1984.
They hold many rats by the tails in each hand. Popular on Sundays.
I'll try to upload them one day but I have just moved house and can't find a bloomin' thing.

I remember seeing STAR meat in a turoturo in cebu down near the harbour 30'ish years ago? It was a really grimy rundown eatery, I asked rather naively what star meat was, I was told to read it backwards :D
I have also seen a number of rattus rattus skins in a gutter in cebu, only one reason to skin a rat in that part of town, yup, star on the menu somewhere or other :)

Did you ever visit the PI when dogs heads etc were on open display at butcher stalls etc?

    No.
I had heard about them but, being a dog lover, I couldn't have looked even if they were on display.

    Sorry to hear this, Druk1.
He's so young so let's hope he pulls through :like:
    Where is he located?

TBH, I hadn't heard about CD4 count and had to get some idea via: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fmed.2020.592629/full

CD4 cells are those attacked by HIV, they are T-Cell lymphocytes, their role is as part of the immune system.
