    Yeah that INEOS :D

It's good stuff that IPA, I hate these gels that people buy, this is 75% Iso Propyl with a tiny amount of soapy additive added which makes it taste freaking awful, don't touch your tongue after spraying and drying your hands.

At three quid a bottle on Amazon it's cheaper than most other IPA suppliers on Amazon and the bottles themselves are quality and just the right size for my pockets, I use it at work and before I go into supermarkets I spray the trolley handle top and bottom then do my hands again after the food is in the boot.

So few are being that cautious. It does only seem to be the elderly and vulnerable that are still taking that degree of care.

There was a guy at the checkout in Morrison’s today who was ginormous. The only one within sight wearing a mask. He was hyperventilating and had a mask on, the traditional pale blue type.

Yeah I shop at Lidl and Morrisons, I get there between 9:15pm and 9:40pm at the latest, I won't go on a Sunday, I often see the same faces or at least the same masked faces and some of them are pretty ginormous, I was too not that long ago.

I do often think I wish these folk would think to do something about their weight, for me the trigger was the existence of a working vaccine, that's what stopped me drinking alcohol and spurred some of the weight reduction, basically I was thinking give the vaccine the best chance it has of helping me.

It's hard for people a lot of folk are pretty depressed by the whole 2 years now and resort to eating and drinking for comfort, I certainly did in the first 9 months of lockdown.

I agree. It has been more of a challenge during lockdown.

Was invited to book my flu vaccination this afternoon by text so now have an appointment on Monday the 20th at 9am.

The odd thing is that it appears as two appointments in the MyGP app (too many apps running round now, Patient access, NHS app, now MyGP).

I got this message today at 16:22 and finally got round to registering with this MyGP app, I linked my NHS login to it for simplicity, it suggests you can book the appointment but when you actually get to the application it is not immediately obvious or staring you in the face that you should click here to book a flu vaccine appointment, so while it works I can see it would be quite hard to use for a lot of older people who are not confident with technology.

If it was back in Cebu there WOULD be 5 pinoy families in there :D
I know a lady who gave birth in cebu, her husband paid for the room in the hospital for her and the kid, so three family members took advantage and also slept in the room

There’s a kid in my daughters class that tested positive yesterday. That kid is now off school but the class / school continues.

The child of one of our support staff tested positive last weekend and she has been working from home since, however do the timeline, child would have symptoms after 5 or 6 days whereupon he gets tested gets the result within a day that means his mother could have picked up the virus and been able to spread it from about day 3 of her son's infection maybe which means it is quite possible that Covid has been in our office, the lassie is vaccinated and she has tested negative so the vaccines have probably worked but there is a window of time when she could have been infected been in the office and didn't know.

The whole thing just scares the crap out of me.

Yes, the game has changed. It seems like if one has a degree of immunity then one survives. If not then tough. There is so much of it about now.

The interesting thing is that H and her husband have tested negative since, their vaccinations were fairly recent as they are younger, I think H is under 40 so it will have been Pfizer in her case, given that it is impossible to confine delta because of the sheer magnitude of the viral replication rate this does imply that the vaccines are working, the wee boy in this case was sick with high on and off fevers for 3 days so not exactly a mild cold.

Yeah it is binary, and the hard part is no one knows if their protection worked until confronted with the virus.

This is what angers me to some extent about the early opening up while case rates were still high, it would have been a very different story if population vaccine coverage had been closer to todays numbers 2 months ago.

One might retort well Israel were in that position and it's looking bad there now but Israel's situation is a little bit different, almost exclusively Pfizer and implemented with the 21 day gap between doses, we need a few more months to see if the 12 week gap in the UK actually translates into a genuinely more robust immunity.

Right now case numbers do look stable in England but Scotland where the schools have been back for a month looks awful :(
