All seniors for 2 months had to stay in their property. Armed soldiers on check points. And when we were eventually allowed out it was on certain days and no one was allowed into the City on Sundays unless they had a permit from the barangay captain. Looks like it paid off.

Just been told by my wife that people in Pinas have to pay 4/5 k pesos if they want to be vaccinated.
Where the heck they expect the poor wtetches to find all that money, considering that the sheer size of average family groups is enormous

Which part of the PI? I mentioned this to someone (a nurse) who had the vaccine for free last week, she said if there's a charge is it not a rogue barrio captain trying it on and ripping locals off?

Yes, I have just got off the phone, spoke to a health-care professional, they know a number of people personally had the jab in Davao but haven't been charged, the jab was free :like:

    Talisay, Cebu is not Davao.
As far as I know, corruption is rife.
After Hayan our lot weren't given any aid because of a foreigner (me) in the family...
Same story with the latest Covid-19 handouts..
But as soon as I can get a word in edge ways when the wife gets in touch with them , I will ask the relevant questions directly.

I know talisay isn't in Davao, I have been to them both on a number of occasions :)
The aid is the social amelioration program, I have heard of a barrio captain whose role was to "Means test" who gave 5000 to those he chose as needy and pocketed 1000,this was of 6000 allotted by the government, he is now in prison :D

That's the barrio captain for you, might have even got the cash for them and pocketed it, I do know one personally and she is a millionaire for a reason :ninja:
