Gab wants to add a comments section to everything on the internet
A new tool from fringe social network Gab aims to add a comments section to anything and everything on the internet.

Dissenter is a browser extension that lets users make comments on anything from Facebook pages to specific tweets and local news sites. Users can also up- and down-vote other comments. The comments are visible to anyone, but commenting requires a Gab account.

"This is basically adding a public square to every URL," Gab CEO Andrew Torba said in a 20-minute Periscope video.

Gab didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

It will probably accelerate the positive feedback loop.

If you don't know what I mean, positive feedback is what happens for any live band when they get the sound mix wrong and a microphone picks up the sound it just recorded and feeds it back through the loop and everything goes to ****.

The same effect will be seen on the internet where personal bias will result in huge positive feedback which will reinforce the entrenched polarised positions that already exist.

    It is depressing.

I guess this is the inevitable consequence as freedom of speech continues to be shut down by the likes of FB and Twitter. Tut tut.

Oh great, now the entitled and pompous can comment on anything, no matter how stupid and uninformed they look.

I was always told, unless you have something useful to say, keep it shut. Better a silent fool then the one who confirms they are indeed a fool by talking rubbish (ok a slight variation, but you get my drift).
