You can get the smaller versions. That’s what we have. Big enough for 2 plus a five year old. So no need to let the dirty dishes pile up for days to get the worth out of it. My other half likes everything to be just so, but she acknowledges that the dishwasher helps us both when we are both working. What else? Parking. The car has to be straight and evenly distributed between the white lines. If not then I soon know about it! Front wheels turned so they are straight. Another one is meticulously folding the plastic carrier bags (she refers to them each as a plastic) and placing them very neatly in the kitchen drawer.
That is exactly how I would describe my partner. Very much so. But she finds it harder to be so orderly at home now that she works.
I went through the link that says 48 things to tell if you are pinoy and discovered that there are some but many things appear to things that Americans don't do.
Well, we might take a trip to Stockport like Max mentioned and pickup one there. We are due for a Filipino food shop.
What a load of old tosh that first article is. Filipinos don't have dishwashers because they can get the maid to do it? Seriously? I asked my wife if people wash up in cold water in the Philippines. She said they do. When I asked why she said it's because they don't have any hot. She also reminded me that when she came here she used to wash up in cold water but changed to using hot because I told her to. I must admit I can't remember that but I'm sure I would have!
My partners mother runs a household for dignatories and even they do not have a dishwasher. But yes, they have maids to do the washing up. We tend to be a bit more automated in the U.K. as a whole it seems. Do you see many automated car washers in the Philippines, for example?
We are about an hour away, so still a bit of a yomp. But we combine it with a trip to the Trafford Centre.
Yes anything that can be done manually is done manually. If a family can afford a maid then one will be employed for various set tasks at an agreed wage. There is a car wash in the same complex where asawas ma n pa’s businesses are and of course it is manual. If things were automated to any extent in the PI the employment statistics would be worse than the current state, which in itself is bad.
That's a bit rude. If that's how you want to be then I'll leave you to it. Enjoy mocking your partner.
I haven't seen any automated car washes here. For me that is a good thing. I take my Ford Ranger pickup for a complete and I mean complete hand wash once a week. They wash under the car completely and hand wipe the engine, full vacuuming inside. The whole process employs 4 guys and takes about an hour, during which time I'm sat in an air-conditioned waiting room with free coffee, tv and wifi. Total cost £2. Lovely jubbly. We also hand wash dishes using cold water. We could use hot water, but modern detergents don't need it. They do a perfectly good job with cold.
