I submitted my payslips for the last 6 months. Isn't that enough proof of where my money comes from? Or do I need to explain that further on my cover letter the next time i apply?

Do you think that after 6 months from when a large amount of money was deposited to my account, and if there is no movement except deposits from my salary, I'd have higher chances?

On that note, do i still have to explain again where the large amount of money came from even if it will not show on bank statements that it was deposited one time big time 6 months before that? Thanks.

Let the money stay there for atleast 6 months. Next time you apply, include all savings and payroll account. If you can visit another country (which requires visa) prior to your reapplication, I think it would be a plus.

Do i still have to explain where my savings are from even if it will not show that a large amount of money was deposited in it 6 months ago on the bank statements? Thank you so much.

If your salary is below 20k, explain it. They will wonder where you got that big amount.

    Alright thanks.

Your suggestions and other future suggestions are highly noted. Will try to apply again in September or October.

So sorry to hear this but as discussed this is mainly due to the bad reputation of filipinos anywhere they go - we overstay and violate travel restrictions like work even without the right visa. Now valid tourists like you pay the price.

Try and apply again but this time make sure you do the following:
    - make sure that inheritance money is beyond 6 months
    - include the copies of visa stamps in your passports (its a strong proof that you dont overstay)
    - adjust your budget. 80k php including the ticket is not enough- make it at least 150k. Last minute ticket is already priced at around £700 (or 45kphp) add to that your hotel at around 50£ per day plus food plus pocket money (bus/tube trips). Make a detailed budget by using google.
    - what else do you have as strong ties to ph? My sister still lives in our parents’ house, so she doesnt have any real estate property under her name. What she has are savings accounts, mutual funds, shares of stocks, and other investments instrument. So i told her to get a certified letter from her bank (signed and stamped by them) and her investment broker. She also has ‘paluwagan money’ in the company she works for (you know those money you pay every pay day as savings so you have money on christmas?- she asked their treasurer to write a letter stating that she still has xxx money as proof that she will come back to get encash it for christmas).

Strangely I speculated your problem may be that you stated you were only coming for 7 days. Its a short time for a trip without a reason such as wedding or funeral. People would ask why come such a long way with that expense for such a short time. Only a theory and I do not doubt your own personal situation but it might be a flag for the visa people. Don't forget that what you apply for and what you do with your visa are two different things. You can apply for two weeks, state you have budgetted 200K and still come just for a wekk.

It sucks big time that genuine tourist travelers have to pay the price. Anyway, I really appreciate your reply. Thanks.

About my strong ties, just my job and savings accounts (had it stamped by the bank). That's pretty much all of it. I also still live in my parents house.

I see. So are you suggesting when I reapply, I should state that I'll stay for more than a week? Even if in reality I'll just stay for a week? The ECO did mention that they do not think I can supply enough funds for that 7 day trip even when i already provided that I have 300k savings. Thanks.

What's in your itinerary? Are you going to London? If yes, make your budget 150k. If other part of UK, 100k is ok. Also, are you going to visit friends or just tour?

It doesn't matter. You just have to offer the correct budget, say 200k. No one then makes sure you spend that amount. Make it all about the trip of a lifetime etc. People apply for two weeks and stay two months.

Another thought may be that your trip budget may have been insufficient in detail and in size to begin with. Detail travel costs, subsistence costs, where you intend to go and the costs.

This raises an interesting question... I take your point about stating you will be staying for LONGER than you actually intend, to make it look a worthwhile trip -

I have heard others say that, although a standard Tourist/Visitor Visa allows for the applicant to stay for UP TO 6 months, it is better to say you are only intending to stay 2 to 4 WEEKS. If you then stayed for the full 6 months, I wonder if that would be seen as an 'Overstay'/black mark/red flag by UKVI for any future Visa applications, even though you have not actually out-stayed the validity period of the Visa?

Was planning to go to London just for tour. I have friends there, but I didn't mention them anymore as I wanted to apply on my own. Even requested for a multiple entry visa.

150k is good for how many days though exactly? Thanks again.

Can you post your itinerary here? When I applied for visit visa, I put in my itinerary for some days - visit friends in ___. 100k for 5 days was my budget but location was in Durham (Northeast). So better to put 150k since it's in London. 7 days is ok for 150k.

My quick budget was £600 for ticket, £100 per day for accomodation, £50 per day for food / drinks, £150 for entrance tickets, £100 for transport / UBER, £200 misc, £200 gifts. thats £2,300 which is abour 160k php.

If you are staying with friends, you should include that and get a letter from them as a sponsor for the accomodation only. All visitor visas are multiple entry. Did you apply for a extended visa? If so then don't, they are notoriously difficult.

I actually have an old friend who is a permanent resident there already, who lives near Manchester if I'm not mistaken. I was initially planning on getting a letter from them to sponsor my accommodation. But things were a bit complicated as the house they were renting is under his husband's name. And let's just say they're really not in good terms.

Now I'm considering of reapplying, but this time to try and get an invitation letter from my friend for accommodation only. The problem is, the ECO might deny me again cause I didn't mention that on my first application.

I honestly just wanted to apply on my own since I originally planned to tour the city alone as I have done so in my recent travels here in Asia anyway.
