England's hopes of qualifying for the Nations League finals were ended by defeat against Belgium in Leuven.

I may just get over the disappointment, what a useless tournament

I think if we had played until next week we still wouldnt have scored, we simply never looked like scoring, the only plus for me was that Grealish showed why he should play more reguarly, and i say that as a Wolves fan, Southgate needs to find a way of being more positive against the top rated teams in competitive games, not only in friendlies, Maddison and Ward Prowse come to mind and im sure their are others out there that could help provide chances for Harry Kane, Im still not convinced by Stirling he seems to be a playground bully type who is able to do it against lesser teams but not the Top teams.. Defensively we are still not solid and wont be so long as Dier and Maguire seem to be the mainstays of the defence, and the less said about Pickford the better, but do we really have anyone better than him ?, that is the crux of the matter, possibly we have to many players that are the best of a poor bunch in to many positions..

Strange that, for a welcome change, Wales and Scotland are on the verge of qualification.

Southgate underestimated the Belgians and did not play his men tactically correctly.
A big challenge is on how to overcome the strong presence of European footballers in the Premier League.

Sterling was injured and was not available. Sterling played against the top teams in Europe and made several assist and scored skipping past some of the best defenders in the world. Why Foden was not picked I don't know the answer maybe injured too.

Im aware that Sterling was/is injured as was Rashford, the fact remains we are short of top class players in key positions ie creative players, its no good having decent strikers if we cant create oportunities for them, we conceded 2 goals against a very good team that were also without players, that means we needed to score three goals to win, not many Teams score 3 Goals against top ranked teams in meaningful games, England in my opinion are still some way short of top class, but we can only play with what we have..

Yes mate, I agree with a lot of that, especially regarding Pickford - he has been losing his concentration for club and country for a while now. Indeed, although it pains me to say this - DCL is not my idea of an England centre forward.
He is not a Lineker or a Shearer but he is a reasonable club centre forward.
"Best of a poor bunch" - this England side is mediocre for me.

I didn't even watch it live - this competition is so meaningless for me.
