Does the English and TB test have to be taken before the visa application or is it taken during the waiting time for the application ?
Cheers @Brom27 i expected that would be the case. Can TB test be done anywhere? and is there a time limit between taking the test and the visa application?
There is only one TB testing center in ph which is the iom center in makati. This test is valid for 6 months. Some suggest to get it done within reasonable time in case your loved one is infected (ph has a prevalent case of tb specially in the rural areas) then there is time for treatement. If you stay outside manila, like me, have it done at the same time as the ielts test to save the cost and time of travel.
The TB test is only done in IOM which is in Makati City, no other centre is accepted by UKVI which is ridiculous really. Just make sure you don't take the test well ahead of time, the TB test is only valid for 6 months.
Exactly, like what I did since I am from Mindanao. Wednesday I did the TB test and next day I did the English Test. The UKVI should put test centres in Mindanao, a lot of Pinoy partners of British people are Bisaya and I am already persuading my friends to look for British boyfriends so they should expect more Bisaya applicants
If you're outside Manila, you can do both in 1 day. I went first to IOM Manila before 8AM and finished around 9:30AM. I then went to Marco Polo Ortigas (via MRT to make sure I won't be late) and arrived around 10:30AM. I then took the IELTS exam by 1:30PM. Saves you time.
I totally agree! I know some who are from Mindanao. I kept on flying to Manila 3 times (1st: TB test, IELTs; 2nd: Submission to VFS; 3rd: CFO) to have everything sorted. It was quite costly and tiring to be honest.
My partner is also in Mindanao. That's the reason behind asking where it could be taken. Good to know this. We can get it done when she will go manilla for the language test.

Exactly, they should at least put another TB centre in Cebu since there is an English test centre there too.
My fiancee hasn't done either test yet. She's booked in for 1st and 2nd of Feb. We are just waiting for dates for around the 14th of Feb to come out to get her booked in to formally submit her application, as we can always rearrange if she fails any right?
I don't think she'll fail the TB test but if ever the result is inconclusive then she will be required to provide a sputum sample which will incur extra fee and it will mean results will take longer to be released. On the English test, I know she won't fail it too, but IF and IF, she can always book another test whenever she is ready
Yeh, we want to get everything together to plan for her to come over at the end of march as we already have a trip to Hong Kong planned. So I suppose if she fails, we will just push the appointment to submit the application back.
In case the TB test is successful, do you get a certificate immediately? We are filing an extended Student Visa application in May and are a bit pressed for time. Does it sound doable to do the TB Test in the morning and file the application to VFS in the afternoon?
Yes. You get the certificate after a couple of hours. I arrived around 730 at IOM and then they gave me a priority number. It opens at 8 am but tests are conducted by order of arrival. The applicant will be called in to fill up details then called in a room for a quick interview from the resident doctor. You are then called to a room for an x-ray. Usually wait for around 30 mins (i think they process the xray per batch) then you get the results if all is okay. I was outside IOM before 930! Are you willing to risk it? If its clean, then you wont have ang problem but if not, then you will end up loosing both time and money.
my fiancee failed the TB test in april 2015. the course of treatment was successful---and she was able to apply for her fiancee visa in december 2015.
