We are top four right now but we are miles behind Manchester City. The gulf in class when we played them recently was quite shocking. City hardly ever give the ball away and we squander many passes.
Toffees ain't 4th at the moment, with Chelsea 1 up on the pool , hopefully the score will improve a bit as it seems the reds are not doing much to change things
Well you did it against LFC. The match on Monday at your place will be interesting but I am not optimistic as we don't usually do well at Stamford Bridge. However, if you beat Everton on Monday, you will make it much more difficult for L'Pool to get in the top four. Our team is getting better and the defence is stronger so who knows?
Klopp's bright shiny teeth are not on show much these days - Liverpool have never lost five consecutive matches at home in their history.
And only scored 1 goal, a penalty against Man City. Liverpool 0-1 Burnley Liverpool 0-1 Brighton Liverpool 1-4 Man City Liverpool 0-2 Everton Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea
If Tottingham and Villa win their games in hand, Liverpool would be 9th. That is quite hilarious. During the next off-season, their midfield needs to be overhauled. Henderson, Milner, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Firminho....get rid. With hindsight, their were a few parts which would have benefited from being refreshed with more than just Thiago. Now, they'll have to do it in one swoop. Those 5 guys are decent squad players, and on their day they are great, but over the course of 38 games + cup matches, they will get found out. 1 fluke season does not make a juggernaut. Just ask Ranieri.
In my opinion, last season's Liverpool dominance on the game was based on a couple of factors but mainly on how bad the other teams were performing overall, and not for the much vaunted pool super excellence on the field. And yes, Covid-19 lock down, and lack of fans making a racket in the stadia did have some bearing on the situation too. As a Chelsea supporter, I am glad my team won. At least, at the moment it seems that CL football is assured...
I wouldn't count on that, Dom. There are so many teams in the mix and there are lots of games to go (38 in total):
Hope has not been a Chelsea feeling for many years as you have been thought of as top four. Things have really changed this year as seen in the table. Hope is the sort of feeling that teams like Everton feel. Who knows what will happen? Look at L'Pool, Spurs and Arsenal now. Who'd have thunk that?
I have a feeling that Leeds will rise up in the next few years. They are so strong, play with intensity and have a good, experienced manager. Of course, some teams who are not thought of as being "top four" have an easier ride right now because they do not have to play any European games. Being in Europe changes a lot as the squads have to be expanded which means more investment.
The ball is round and one gets 3 points only if he chucks in the opposing net more often than the opponent
Carlo Ancelotti is smiling more and more. Everton haven't had a manager with ambition for many, many years. This smiling, experienced manager is a breath of fresh air for a club which is a founding member of the Football League and has competed in the top division for a record 117 seasons. Everton haven't won a trophy since 1995 but now there is optimism. C.A.: "Everton is my team":
