Tomorrow is the last men's match at Goodison Park. Unless the new owners have the U-21's play there as well as Everton Women.
I first went to Goodison Park with my Dad (RIP) in the 1962/63 season. He even grabbed a small piece of the turf at the end of the last game when we won the league. It was in a shoe box in the loft for years Happy Days.
'Best atmosphere I have ever witnessed'published at 12:13 British Summer Time 12:13 BST Everton 1-0 Southampton Pat Nevin Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Goodison Park The best atmosphere I have ever witnessed at a football ground in my entire life. It never stops. To any Evertonian, and any football fan, it is hard to explain. As every football fan knows it is about the people you were there with. All those emotions are all stirred and mixed into today.
Women team staying behind and blokes moving to the new digs... Some kind of segregation going on there?
Another 5-10 years and they'll be whinging they should have the bigger ground because the guys never win anything
According to rumours, there are already plans to increase the capacity of the new stadium. EFC will have to start winning trophies first; this seems a long way off at present. Thirty years ago since the FA Cup final win
Funny how things go in cycles - Liverpool clubs up and Manchester clubs down I think Everton have a great chance to make it back into Europe next season - momentum of the new stadium and Moyes team building and all that. Anyway congratulations, who'd have thought Everton would have finished 2 places above the mighty Manchester United this season
