    Hello everyone,

I'm Jordan, 24 years old from Manila. It has always been my dream to visit or live in the UK for a period of time, luckily our company will be sending me there for a 45-day business trip on the 3rd week of June, next month. I am looking forward to have some friends here and hoping to meet some of you there. :)

Thank you for the warm welcome guys.

@DavidAlma I'll probably spend most of my time in London, but I will be visiting areas on the countryside.

@Brom27 Yes bro I am very fortunate to have this opportunity to travel with one of my favorite place on earth :D

What are the top places you would suggest for me to check out there in my 1st week of visit? I will be staying in Northolt with a relative.

    Welcome to the forum!

You will have a great time here. London is a fantastic place and one advice, be prepared to walk. Bring comfy shoes and do your stretching. You get the best of london if you walk.

If you have a relative, they have already sorted out an itinerary for you, thats for sure. But i enjoyed the sky garden at the walkie talkie building (reservation is free but book it in advance), the borrough market (a lot of artisan foodies, the paella in one stall is very nice), the walk along the thames river and of course its museums with a lot of them free. Make sure you watch a musical.

So it depends really if you are artsy, or want to check the nightlife, or a foodie or outdoors, or sportsy, you will not run out of things to do.

Hiya! I would recommend London (as what @Brom27 suggested, always the favorite) and Lake district in Cumbria.
The lake has a lot of small towns around that you can visit. Each town has something to offer. And maybe do a lake cruise, quite good to be honest. ;) There were a lot of Asians (mainly Chinese, Indian and Japanese) when we spent our honeymoon few weeks ago. You will surely love it because I did. One week was not even enough to explore all of it!

@Brom27 London is my favorite, but I know every place will be my favorite when I get there! Lol

@Maley Thank you for the tip, I would love to try everything you said and definitely would try to check out those museums! I'm kinda artsy, I'm not that foodie but would love to try the taste of London :D

@Timmers Thank you for the warm welcome! I really love the UK, I think I fell in love with it because of its architecture and rich history!

@DavidAlma I will surely enjoy every bit of my UK travel! I will definitely post pictures here! :)

@graham59 Noted! I want to visit many places as much as I could! Can you suggest what 50km place away from London I have to see first? :)

@tipipay Thank you so much for the inputs! I am taking down notes now so I could make my own itinerary aside from my relative's. I think it will be a challenge for to balance work and my exploration :D Lol

I have a question to those Filipino here who experienced adjustment with the timezone, how long did it took before you were able to adjust?

Lol true you will love every place when you get here aside from London. :)

It didn't take me long adjusting with the timezone tbh. I'm sure you'll be okay.

That's the problem with extreme nationalists - they all think their country is the best in the world.

Every country can't be the best - although in my limited experience the UK scores very high!

I agree with those who say try and get out London...if Scotland is too far so many beautiful parts of England and Wales.

    Welcome;)
Not long, just a few days. My long flight from Singapore to UK seems to have helped.
A few more places that I just remembered, try to go to York and Cornwall, I've heard a lot of good things about it from my British friends. ;) And maybe Ireland? My mother-in-law said it's also quite good there. :D Surely, your itinerary will be a long one. :D
