It won't just be Spain, France and to some extent Germany and Italy too, I said here over 5 years ago now to expect losing productive tax paying young people and to get burdened with a lot of returning expats many with health conditions that would end up increasing the burden on the NHS but I was told I was talking nonsense at the time.

They won't all return but a lot will, and the shrinking expat community in these countries will make it less appealing for a lot of brits who didn't really integrate very well over there and who relied on the expat social scene so it could turn into a feedback loop where the return accelerates until there is only a hard core left.

Also note how this will not have much of an effect on the genuinely rich with their second or third homes in the sun.

Got a few friends who have done their paperwork and they are staying, know a few more who are in a grey area and winging it.

The article describes him as a property expert, the video caption is just sloppy, it didn't need a caption.

MSN is just a new aggregator.

Newspapers have to put everybody into little boxes - he lives there and he works with property so he must be an expert
He will know more about Spain and people movements from there compared to a factory worker in Nottingham for example.

I think the "property expert" doesnt say a lot!!We probably have a greater insight or thought process on the subject, I have a bit of a vested interest in this subject with regard to my retirement wind down!!!

He is a real estate managing director so he will know more than most down there.

Could be another Spanish property crash such as that in 2008. I'm looking for a bolthole either Spain or England, although English property won't crash.

This is regarding Spanish property and Covid-19, Jim.

If I was going to live in Spain now, I would go in the Santander/Bilbao area.
My friends tell me it is lovely on the North coast and it is easy to drive to France.
It is away from all the expat bars and English breakfast cafes.

The 90 days that people are allowed to live there in 180 days is a pain in the backside now.
