Well, not too long back there was no priority visa service and most people had to wait 2 months at least for the decision.

I think the new service on offer is fantastic especially for those of us who have little patience :)

Hi @Stupot10 I would like to ask if you applied your fiancee visa online
and sent the documents to Sheffield? We're going to process our fiancee visa soon , any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi @emz. Yeah we did the online application and printed it off then sent all documents to Sheffield. My fiancée only did her biometrics at the VFS.

Is the scanning service still available so you don't have to send to Sheriff?

Yes I think still available but we wanted to send everything in the new process so everything was submitted together. Less chance of lost, unscanned documents or mix up with documents being sent from different places bring submitted.

Hi Stupit10! I am doing the very same thing as you did. But i didnt know anything about sending the application to Sheffield. Could you explain to me about this? As this might speed up the process of getting all the documents submitted instead of sending them all back to the Philippines which i have partly already have unfortunately. Did you have legal assistance as well? Thanks

Hi @Jul Tolentino the process is really simple. Just collect all your documents together as you would if sending them to the ph to submit. The only difference is get your partner to send all their documents, the printed VAF4a and the appendix 2 to you in the UK and then submit to Sheffield. Your partner then only needs to go to the VFS to submit their biometrics. We booked the appointment to submit biometrics 1 week later from my fiancée sending me her documents.
We had no legal assistance, we have done the application and process ourselves from learning and asking questions on here.

why cant the applicant take their paperwork in to vfs-?-save posting to the UK. i thought that was the idea

I believe they can do this. But we preferred to submit everything from just 1 place rather than sending from here and also scanning in the PH. Less chance of documents getting mixed up, lost or just not scanned properly. Also they receive everything at same time rather than getting everything at seperate times.

Thanks @joi1991 , I know we have a long wait as made a mistake on the priority application so it's now a standard application. Hopefully yours won't take to long to come.

Don't beat yourself up about making a mistake, as long as your application is successfully that's the main thing, you will very quickly forget about your time apart once your loved one arrives in the UK.
