    Keith isn't, but I am :)

I am nowhere near london though.

Next time I go over I really will record our Nanay's recipes, I keep meaning to do that but never have.

The lack of Filipino restaurants throughout the country tells its own story I'm afraid, food from the Philippines just doesn't do it for most people including myself.

Its the people of the Philippines I like, I can do without their food :)

I've been to a couple of Filipino restaurants in London.

Josephine's, in Charlotte Street, is quite good. Been there a couple of times.

The other one I went to was one of the ones in Earl's Court - which is as close to a Filipino area as you'll get in London and there's a few restuarants and a Filipino shop there. It was a Sunday lunch time buffet and the food was bloody awful.

My wife was really annoyed when we left, and said that it is because of places like that that nobody can be bothered with Filipino food.

So what do you eat when ever you're in the Philippines? Jollibee:D
Myself, I love filipino food, I eat anything apart from Indian food which I don't like.

    Anyway this restaurant looks good.

My only option is manok as I'm not a lover of fatty baboi. So chicken almost everyday on my 2 week stints

Like Keith, I'm a big Indian food lover, westernised Chinese food too. Last time I was in Paranaque I went to an Indian restaurant and I was so disappointed, no taste no flavour and poor service, a real let down especially when we'd been talking about going for a long time.

Seafood is my favourite option when in the Philippines, especially a home banquet at the mother in laws house.

My wife cooks nothing that resembles Philippine food which is fine by me, a lot of fusion food is the order of the day for me, I love a good mixture of food on a plate.

I like Bistek, Sigsig, Crispy Pata, Lumpia, Kaldereta, Pork Adobo, Tocilog, Tapsilog, and Longanisa. Only food I'm not keen on is Kare-Kare..

I don't think kare-kare is many peoples favourite, especially if they chuck a load of offal in :(

If I ever had a spare fortune in the bank I always thought a Pinoy eatrie which shall we say had its menu made more uk friendly could do well. As many real Indian/Pakistani restaurants do I would have a ex pat menu for those who want authentic. There are plenty of dishes which if lightened and made not quite as fat/sugar loaded would go down well.

Adobo in olive oil with good quality meats and plenty of chillies would go down a treat with most Brits as I know many who love it when the Wife and her friends cook it for them.

    Grilled meats.

Leche flan goes down a treat at maylasian resturants.

    Spring rolls

Lechon Baboy done right is just a Hog roast

    Chicken tinola, beef calderata

So many dishes which i cant remember the names of could be made uk eyes and tummy friendly

Most of the other nations restaurants/takeaways here do the same they don't make them for those back home they realise a little refinement is needed for what ever country they are in.

Go in most Indian/Chinese resturants or takeaways and many will have two menus.

In the runup to my wife flying here, a local Pinay that had been here a number of years, opened up a restaurant called the New Manila Cafe and Restaurant. It had a Thai menu except on sunday where the menu was Filipino. However, a month or two later the Filipino food was withdrawn and replaced with Thai food. It has been like that ever since.

Shame really. Nice for the wife if it retained the Filipino portion of the menu.

I asked the owner about the change of tack. She simply said that the Filipino food did not sell.
