    Hi

My partner is a high School Maths Teacher, as I am self employed I am finding it hard to reach the 18,600 mark.
We hope to marry before she comes here and I am trying to find out if she could teach here in Scotland, but can't find any info on here.

As the sponsor you will have to reach the £18600 threshold before she can come here to do any sort of work.

Unless there is a way of getting her here as a student given her educational acumen.
Try researching tier4 student visa which might point you in a good direction.
    Good luck

My wife came here november 2016 she has a diploma in english, also teaching in a private school in tagum for 6 years, was taken on at an education agency in liverpool we sent her certificates to naric uk and found they were not to the same standard as our education standards but she worked at a special needs school and luckily has been taken on full time.I hope your partner can join you and would advise getting their certificates recognised at naric uk or the scottish equivelent i think it cost about £60 to see what level their certificates are comparable to the uk and to join an employment agency dealing in education all the best.

It stems with the incompatibility of the educational standards between countries. Plus the basic education in oh is just 10 yrs (6 yrs elem/primary and 4 yrs high school) then a university degree.

I am struggling with the same - i am accountant worked with big four qudit firms but when i moved here, my qualification and experience anounted to nothing since its not ‘uk chartered accountant’. If you ask me, accounting is the same anywhere but apparently not.

So i guess its the same with teacher (even though uk has shortage of teachers that it should be easier to ‘re-train’) although im not sure why nurses are treated differently.
