Diaspora is a generic word Malcolm it is not tied to the jewish migration. There was an Irish and Scottish diaspora to the USA and all parts of the globe, OFW's are part of the Philippine diaspora.
I suppose either the Culture & food section or the Immigration section, let me have a think about creating a new sub forum but start off in there and we can move your thread later if you want, the Immigration section has a Migrating to the Philippines sub forum maybe we need a specific Migrating to Britain sub forum as well. Welcome!
I've added a new sub forum Migrating to Britain For general advice on setting into the UK, we already have the UK Visa and Immigration Help forum which is kind of similar and we might merge the two, but this new one perhaps has the better title for what you want post.
