Hi All, Come Friday me and my wife will finally have all our documents together and be in a position to apply for our Settlement Visa. Can i ask you kind folks to give me a last final sanity check on the documents i plan to submit to see if i'm missing anything. Just a little background for reference, Me and my wife meet while i was on international assignment in South Korea with my UK employer, we got married in Seoul and were living together in Korea and have been married 16 months now, we also registered our marriage at the Philippines Embassy. Recently my assignment to South Korea ended and i had to return back to the UK with my employer hence why we are now apart and applying for the settlement visa for her to join me in UK. Looks good, but am i right in thinking, that you dont sign the application until you get to the application centre, not 100% sure about that..
I think you also need the following.. The Sponsors passport, Bio and visa stamps needs to be certified (you can do this at a post office) What about proof of accomodation i.e property inspection report. this needs to state size of each room. SU07/12 form is required...
Still in process of waiting to find out outcome of visa application so bear that in mind with regards to my comments Link to what I included. http://www.british-filipino.com/index.php?threads/settlement-visa-application.16388/ Make sure wages slips and bank statements are within 28 day requirement and bank statements show deposit of salary for each wage slip you have submitted. Stupid question but have you included evidence of living together in Korea ? Just wondering if your evidence of being in Korea includes your wife being with you. Not sure if the evidence is about you being in Korea or both of you living together in Korea. Subtle point but there is the question about living together in the appendix 2 and worth making the point in the evidence. Lots of debate on the SU07/12 form and second link below indicates that required for adult dependent settlement visa which is not the spouse visa as I understand it. After reading about requirements I came to the conclusion it was not required and did not include. Counter arguement is that it is does not hurt so why not include. Up to you on that one. https://assets.publishing.service.g...ment_data/file/270197/sup-docs-settlement.pdf https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/sponsor-a-visa-applicant-form-su07 Reading on the property inspection report seems to be a debate on that one as well and lots of people seem to have got it without - again from my reading it was not required if you owned the house and living there by yourself. I'm assuming that you own the property, only you there presently and not renting rooms out. Reading the document that details the requirement they do not mention a property inspection report as a requirement although do state require evidence that it is not overcrowded - in applicant's case with just him and his wife, requirement is one bedroom. We went with the house deeds and I also included the original estate agent's handout for the property from when I bought it which detailed the rooms and dimensions. Appendix 2 asks for the details of the property and number of both bedrooms and other rooms I'm assuming to allow them to do an overcrowding check calculation. Does council tax show you as getting single person discount ? Adds to evidence that you are only person there at present and hence less issues over overcrowding. https://assets.publishing.service.g...ntenance_and_Accommodation_Part_8_Annex_F.pdf I got post office to certify the copies of my Passport and driving license. Certified copy of Driving license added to prove that I was living at the address on title deeds I also included my original birth certificate as proof of entitlement to live in UK along with Passport bio page (certified by Post Office). I don't think birth certificate for me was required but since I had it and was easy to do so I included it anyway. We included signed copy of application form - they take the signed pages at the visa centre in manila so assume they will do the same in Korea. Wife signed them at visa centre so reprinted them and got her to sign them again for visa pack. In terms of order of documents will get an email afterwards telling you the order they want them in (why they do not publish this before I don't know) : If you have made a Settlement application (except for applications lodged in USA and Canada): you must ensure that your UK sponsor has sent all relevant supporting documentation to the UK Decision Making Centre in Sheffield. The documents should be arranged in this order: application form and relevant Appendix* (See below); English language evidence; relationship documents; maintenance documents; accommodation documents. There have been discussions on including an NBI report as well. General assumption is not required but since we had one anyway we included it. Forgot to list the passport photos on my list which we did include in the supporting documents. Sure that you will need passport photos for VFS GLOBAL as well - think they took one of them with the paper application in manila. Don't think it would have been an issue as they had a passport photo booth machine at VFS global in manila so could probably have used that if necessary but one less thing to worry about if you have some spare ones for there.
Forgot to add - you need to give them a stamped addressed envelope to send the documents back to you in.
The wife has just had her TB test in Manila, she has got the all good so onwards, and upwards, This month is my last month of fulfilling the 6 months Income requirement, then its US doing the applying after so many months of watching, and waiting while other people apply . Starting to get nervous now, anyways need to go have to do a delivery down in Rainham today, and they need it to be there for 8-00 am..
Yea I have been paying special attention to ensure all my latest financial docs were not older then 28 days . We’re applyng from Manila as my wife is back home now, Yea the evidence from Korea is to show we were living together in Korea and my wife was an authorised dependent at the assignment location with me after marriage. We don’t have household utilities bills from Korea as my accomadation and all bills were all provided/paid directly by my company but I have all my work documents and contract in which my wife was added to after marriage and obviously all our passport stamps/korean visas for both of us and travel history show South Korea as the origin and return points for us, We also visited the U.K. together on visit visa from Korea in Feb. SU07/12 is defo not needed for just a spouse visa it’s for a family dependent like you say. Needing a certified copy of passports is also up for debate on other forum I visit the experts there say just a plan copy is fine but if it’s quick and easy enough to do in post office then I might just do it anyway to be sure. Regarding the property inspection, yea I own the properly and I am the sole occupant and that is shown on the council tax bill via single person discount, so I don’t intent to have a inspection report done. My understanding is that if there are multiple people living in the property are there is potential for suspected overcrowding that is when a inspection report will be needed. We have the NBI clearance as well so I will submit that also, it’s missing from my list. Thanks everyone for there input so far
£10.50 at post office for documentation certification. If near one that offers service then easy to do. You bring the documents and copies and they stamp them. I did it just in case as was in the quick and easy category. https://www.postoffice.co.uk/document-certification-service Best of luck.
I would suggest including the su07 form in any bundle see gov link below updated 26.10.18 and it appears to be valid! Certainly on the FLRm on the electronic application there is a sponsors undertaking form. Strongly suggest you complete it (it takes a few minutes) www.gov.uk/government/publications/sponsor-a-visa-applicant-form-su07
Submitted the application online today and wife's bio mectrics appointment is on Thursday , so nerve raking making sure you have everything correct and then finally hitting that submit button haha Br28016, when did you receive the email giving you instructions about the order of documents? i assume it also told you the address to send documents too? we have not received such a email yet only the application payment confirmation email. did it come right away?
Just a quick update and to close the topic off, My wifes Visa was approved this morning we are both obviously over the moon , thank you all for you help. Timescale if people are interested was 32 days from Biometric appointment we paid for priority.
Congratulations. Well done. Now make sure you "sanitize" every inch of your pad, taking extra care for checking behind the cushions of the sofa...
Yes, dead rodents, mouldy takeaway cartons, scrape them off the cushions, throw them in the bin. You might find a few coppers down the back of the sofa at the same time, if you are lucky!
Haha lucky for me my house was rented out so I’ll be getting back a professionally cleaned place just in time for her arrival . Everything inside will be new as I sold everything while working abroad so I’m sure she will have fun buying everything for the house.
