Good or bad it will not matter, you're going to be so excited when you board the plane, coming back is never so good regardless of which airline and class you are flying.

I think PAL is the only airline to offer a direct service between London and Manila, I flew with them years back and cannot remember if they are a decent airline but I'm guessing they're reasonable from what I have read here on the forum.

I know the feeling, just booking it makes you feel better, the best thing about flying PAL is the fact that the majority of your fellow passengers will be Filipino and that always gives you a warm glow :)

For 7/8 years I was going to see my wife in either Dubai or Manila (4 trips a year) and I enjoyed every moment except for the going home bit, but even when you are leaving your loved one you always know you will eventually be together for always, just that little thing called a settlement visa to get out of the way :)

I miss going to Dubai and Manila, the only thing I don't miss is paying for four trips a year, I spent a small fortune in the name of love but its all worth it in the end :)

Not sure about what plane they use for the lon-mnl but the plane they use for mnl-dxb is the airbus A330 series.
If it is a A330, is a quiet one compared to the boeing 777 used by emirates or etihad. The main disadvantage is the lack of entertainment or food choices. I had to be on my iphone/ipad the entire 8 hrs. Go check PAL website to be prepared on the more than 10 hrs travel.

But as the members of the forum say, you are traveling with a lot of pinoys which will make the flight a lot better.

Flown with PAL four times with all my flights from MNL to LHR and vice versa. I don't really have problems with them but I can't really compare since I haven't tried other airlines. I'm not really comfortable with their seat, I couldn't get some sleep and as stated lack of entertainment and lack of food choices are their downsides..

But hey still get you from London to Manila safe and sound so that's the most important thing.. :like:

I have flown the London manilla London route with them several times now. They are old aircraft but do the job. The service is okay and so is the food. Be prepared though for watching films on an iPad as no screens in the seat backs. I hate lay overs so that's why I use them for the direct flights they offer.

Are you staying in Manila? If not it's best to book hotel to fly on to your next destination next day because of the time the flight lands
