Denver to Hawaii yesterday, I have seen the footage of the plane landing safely, understandably everyone on the flight was cheering https://mobile.twitter.com/i/web/status/1363253631626080256
I wonder if these were Rolls Royce engines. Scary indeed, I once was coming in to land at Schiphol on a 737 and being me I had my camera out the window it was early in the morning and a beautiful sky and we were still above the clouds but I had not realised the clouds were really low level near the ground, anyway there was a huge bang and a flash from the engine I was looking at, bird strike, a stewardess came over and asked me what I saw and went back up and reported to the pilot, she came back later and said it was her first bird strike in 20 years flying. That was scary.
Pratt and Whitney engines, the 777 can fly on one of them, another one from yesterday https://mobile.twitter.com/i/web/status/1363170507521224708
Well one might speculate as to how much of this is due to planes parked up on tarmac for months on end being brought back into commission, but of course it is only my speculation.
