Sorry Andrew, but the foregoing is .... nonsense :erm:. Liam Fox is not "the Minister for Brexit" but is Secretary of State for International Trade - which is clearly stated on that Wiki page ! As for him flying 240,000 miles, well that's another bit of propaganda disseminated by Momentum and is actually impossible to achieve in the quoted time-frame. Of course he returned from the Philippines without any trade agreement: the UK is prevented by law from negotiating or entering into bi-lateral trade agreements whilst it remains a member of the Customs Union. I thought you knew that ;)

Less than half our trade is with the EU, more than half is on WTO terms with the rest of the world. And our trade with the rest of the world is growing whilst that with the EU has been stagnant for months and shows no signs of recovery.

What has Farage got to do with it? When I last checked, Theresa May was Prime Minister and as Farage isn't standing as an MP let alone lead the party with a majority, he can hardly take her place!

You are doing it again, Mark. Nobody said Liam Fox had flown the distance to the Moon; the Mirror said that he and his colleagues had racked up that distance - at our expense.

Farage is the architect of all this nonsense and should be hanged upside down from a lamp post.

Meanwhile, Mrs May has just seen her two chief spin doctors resign... and now...

Indeed I am - or rather did. But on this occasion I took my lead from or rather your rant about Dr Fox. Since the formation of the Single Market and Customs Union, we haven't been in a position to conduct trade talks with other countries and therefore there is groundwork that needs to be done and there are times when the head honcho, in this case Liam Fox, has to go and press the flesh. And I would have thought that you, married to a farmer's daughter, would welcome the prospect of a trade alliance with the Philippines and would savour the thought of those vastly superior Philippine Pineapples being on our supermarket shelves. Or are you simply miffed at the thought of a Tory minister - whom you dislike - visiting a head of state that you hate?

As for Leave.EU, so what? Leave.EU was Arron Banks' unofficial campaign vehicle. Or are you trying to portray this as something so serious that the referendum result should therefore be declared invalid? Dream on!

Marks and Spencer have several stores in Manila. Duterte might buy his Chocolate Biscuits there.

They have Custard Creams as well. :like:

Meanwhile, David Davies' Getting Brexit done and dusted with the best deal for Britain department seems to be making a case for Britain to remain in the EU.

I must say old boy, you come across as really arrogant, thinking that only you and your beloved Liberal party have all the answers and you know exactly how the economy is going to perform after Brexit.

If the Liberals were that bloody good why have they not been in power for the last 101 years?????

Well, yeah, that's a very good question but it isn't entirely accurate: they were in power, albeit sharing power with the Conservatives, between 2010 and 2015; that they then lost most of their seats in the 2015 General Election is not unconnected!

The Tories are still the bookies' favourite at 1/20 and the odds have also shortened for both Labour and the Lib-Dems. Labour is at 12/1 and the Lib-Dems 25/1; Hung Parliament is still at 11/2.

But at the end of the first week, 354 constituencies in England and Wales and 57 in Scotland have no Labour Party candidate.

And in today's "they walk among us" category is Seamus Milne, Corbyn's spin doctor, who told the Financial Times that Labour's election catchphrase should be "The Tories are the real extremists."

Meanwhile his boss spent part of the day recruiting for Momentum Youth:

We both know they were not in power as such with the Tories, the coalition was a necessity and they were fed crumbs by the Tories, the electorate certainly told Cleggy what they thought of his efforts at the last election.

I'm sure Andrew will remind us of how many seats they lost :)

In the event he has selective amnesia I will help him out. The Lib-Dems had 62 seats prior to the 2010 General Election and lost 5 seats in that election. Then they lost 49 seats in the 2015 General Election but gained one in a by election subsequently giving them a tally of 9.

Yes, JC was moaning about class sizes today, getting rid of a couple of million eastern Europeans may help with that one as well as less strain on all our other services :)

I was at the hospital today with this missus and while waiting for her operation I noticed a old Chinese chap going up to reception and insisting by the way of shaking his finger at the receptionist that he wanted a translator.

Lo and behold an old Polish woman walked in asking for exactly the same, 15 minutes later they both have translators by their sides, I moaned to the missus like hell.

After spending 12 hours at Manchester Royal Infirmary I declared to my wife that it should be renamed Karachi Royal Infirmary :)

I hope that once Brexit is completed all foreigners coming to live in the UK have to pass an English test just like our loved ones had to do. Also I would like to see EU citizens stopped from bringing family to the UK or at the very least have to go through the same process as our Filipina wives did.

I am currently thinking of a descriptive word beginning with an c.

I actually started with e, c and l but changed the order. Maybe one day we can compare actual qualifications and achievements :)

Anyway, Dai Davis' department highlighting the importance of the EU and single market whilst also promoting the huge boost in business from a host of countries, including a number who are IN the EU fills me with immense confidence.

I'm sure I've spelt something wrong so you can act like a being of superior intelligence. Whatever floats yer boat.

You do realize that the Lib Dems could poll 25% of the vote and win around only 50 seats.

Were your eggs not labelled in Malta? Definitely called Easter Eggs in the U.K. Not that it really matters, a large percentage of Brits say they have no religion.

You Brexitters enjoy missing the point.

Our electoral system favours the Tory and Labour parties. UKIP got one seat for 4 million votes in 2015. Actually 0 seats because Carswell changes party almost as much as May changes her mind.

That's the point I was making.
