I just picked up the decision by UKIP not to field a candidate in North Norfolk but to urge their members to vote Tory in order to unseat Norman Lamb, and the decision by the Green Party not to field a candidate but to urge their members to vote for Norman Lamb.

Note - this was a response to UKIP's initiative. But the relationship between the Greens and the LibDems is generally good, whilst the relationship between Labour and the LibDems is much worse than it is between Labour and the Conservatives! Indeed, during the County Council elections I was canvassed by the Green candidate, who told me that he would be voting for the LibDem sitting Councillor. I promised him my vote for the Town Council!

They will go into the hundreds of surplus empty houses we have, they will be free to use our much under used NHS they will be free to bring in terrorists under the blanket of refugee status. But as long as Farron gets a few extra votes who cares.

Interesting BBC item on the town where I went to school:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-39846425

Colchester voted Remain by 53.6% to 46.4%, the year after throwing out its long standing LibDem MP - who is standing again.

    Frankly, anyone's guess...

Bob Russell may have been found wanting as a constituency MP. If Lib Dems join with Labour and the Greens, they still may not have enough votes to topple the Conservative incumbant who would likely gain from Ukip transfers. A marginal for sure, Andrew.

Sir Bob (yes! another one!) was returned for many years and is imho popular. LibDems are by definition good constituency MPs - it's part of the "LibDem brand". But he will be unknown to the new voters.

It's going to be very interesting. The Greens are standing, and whilst we will get many votes from Remain Labour voters, the Tories will, as you say, get the Kippers.

Whatever happens, no MP elected for the town can be as utterly vile as the man elected in 1529:

Guido Fawkes tells us that the Progressive Alliance is holding its campaign launch on Monday:

Clive Lewis’ embryonic leadership bid has been put on hold during the election campaign as he focuses on keeping his seat. Lewis has a 7,654 majority in Norwich South so is in the danger zone – the LibDems won there in 2010 and the Tories are targeting it hard. This is why, in defiance of Labour colleagues, Lewis is the headline speaker at the Progressive Alliance campaign launch on Monday. He will be joined by Vince Cable and Green leader Jonathan Bartley to talk about how to “stop the Tories”.
This is a national launch, right?

Some small confirmation that younger voters feel disenfranchised following last year's referendum and are prepared to find their new voices to speak up.

its a national launch of "whatever it is"!

Personally, quite happy to support Lewis, and you will note who is speaking with him...

If you're referring to Vince Cable, yes I knew he'd be there. But the lineup also includes the Trotskyite former BBC Economics Editor turned arch-Corbynista Paul Mason. I thought the Lib Dems were far more discerning thant to jump into bed with a bunch of revolutionary communists - I trust you'll all have nosegays!

Its only fair to the other party's that she faces the same scrutiny as they have.

Lets get to the bottom of it, someone is obviously being economical with the truth.

The Lib Dems should have known better than to wheel this old boy out again in front of the media, he just isn't sharp enough in his old age, and I very much doubt he was sharp enough when he was young :)
