Lady Nugee, who prefers to be known as Emily Thornberry, you may recall put her left hoof in her metaphorical mouth in November 2014 when she tweeted a photo of a house in Rochester draped with St George's flags and a white van parked outside. This one:

Nick Clegg, the then deputy Prime Minister commented "I just think it was a drippingly patronising thing to do by Emily Thornberry. Maybe that’s what happens if you become MP for Islington. I just thought it was a jaw-droppingly condescending way of treating someone who just proudly hanging some flags outside their home". Ed Miliband reacted by sacking her from Labour's front bench.

Well the Thornberry has consigned her other foot to a similar fate. She was out campaigning on Monday and making friends with Labour Party members. She met up with a lady member who was waiting patiently outside her local primary school and this happened:

Yup, that's exactly the way to treat party members when you want to lose ...

Confirmed in The Independent. Tories intend to up the income threshold for spouse visas. It's in their manifesto.

    No new level is given.

They can definitely get stuffed now!

    From the article:

" The manifesto reads: “We will increase the earnings thresholds for people wishing to sponsor migrants for family visas.” But it does not set out a new minimum amount"

The paper has it as a direct quote from the manifesto, so unless the paper is telling a direct lie it is confirmed.

I need to read the manifesto, at the time of launch the media were mainly reporting changes to EU immigration and their families, we will get to the bottom of it, anyway it doesn't affect us :)

Its what the British people want Gerry old boy, didn't we have a referendum a while ago and wasn't immigration the key factor in the outcome?

We will have a good old grumble about it if the financial requirement does go up, we are good at grumbling are we not?

The Conservatives' less than stellar manifesto launch together with Ukip and Corbynista claims that Theresa May is responsible for the Manchester bombing have had a disastrous effects on the Opinion Polls. At the start of the campaign, the Conservatives had a 24 point lead but YouGov's latest poll, published yesterday, clashes that to just five points which would translate to a majority of 2 MPs:
    • Conservatives: 43% (-1)
    • Labour: 38% (+3)
    • Lib Dem: 10% (+1)
    • Ukip: 4% (+1)
    Hardly strong and stable.

Andrew Neil interviewed Jeremy Corbyn as part of a series of party leaders' interviews. This was televised yesterday:

As you can see and hear, Corbyn told Andrew Neil: “I never met the IRA”.

    Seriously? How about:
    • In 1984, two weeks after the Brighton bombing, Corbyn invited two members of the Provisional IRA, Linda Quigley and Gerard McLoughlin, to parliament. MacLochlainn was a close friend of Corbyn. In 1981 he served two and a half years in jail for conspiracy to cause explosions.
    • According to a report in the Sinn Fein/IRA newspaper An Phoblacht, in 2000 Corbyn shared a platform with Brendan McKenna at an event commemorating Bloody Sunday. McKenna was jailed for his role in bombing the British Legion hall in Portadown.
    • In 2005 Corbyn shared a platform with Raymond McCartney at a meeting about Bloody Sunday. McCartney was a member of the Provisional IRA.
    • In 2007 Corbyn spoke alongside Martina Anderson at an event organised by his CLP. Anderson was jailed for plotting a series of terror attacks in London and twelve English seaside towns.
    • In 2009, an An Phoblacht report places Corbyn at a Sinn Fein dinner with Diane Abbott and Ken Livingstone. The event was hosted by Gerry Adams and IRA member Gerry Kelly. Kelly was jailed for his part in the Old Bailey bombing which killed one and injured 200.
    • In July 2011, Jeremy Corbyn chaired a Sinn Fein event commemorating the Hunger Strikes. An Phoblacht says Corbyn shared a platform there with the IRA member Brendan ‘Bik’ McFarlane, who was a part of an IRA gang which killed four Protestant civilians and a UVF member in a pub bombing. Also present was Jennifer McCann, who was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for the murder of a RUC constable.
    • And, of course:

So are we to go and bomb the hell out of France because they invaded us back in 1066?
