Getting married in Manila

    Hello Everyone, I'm getting married in the Philippines in February and my went to Manila to find out the requirements for a civil wedding and someone in the City Hall told her the cost is 15k this dont sound right to me, can anyone advise me please.

    What's the expected capacity of the City Hall? That might be reasonably priced for 150-200 people for you all know!

    Not sure why you disliked my question above! Anyway if you convert 15000 pesos by say 64 pesos to a £ then it's about a fee of £234 which I must admit doesn't seem over the top.
    I guess it covers the room, admin, judges or presiding officer fees.

    When I got married the Civil Wedding and the Certificate and licence came to about 6K.......... The hotel Buffet where we had the ceremony came to well less than 500 Quid for a 100 people..... Nearly double that turned up, some with huge plastic bags...

    So 15k is allot then, maybe they put the price up, it only cost about p500 for a Filipino couple but they charge forigner much much more

    ARE you talking about the cost of the actual ceremony or reception?

    Sorry...... I shoukd have mentioned that the cost of the licence was in pesos. 6K which at the time the exchange rate was £1 = PHP96
