    Hi and welcome
    Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage.
Here is a brief timeline of what to expect based on my marriage in 2015 in the Philippines and subsequent visa application for my wife

Obtain affidavit to allow you to marry in the Philippines from British Embassy in Manilla (you will attend and swear an oath) link required
Banns of Marriage displayed in church/civil office for 10 days
    Marry
Wait for marriage certificate (about a month to six weeks approx)
Wife to complete English test (approved centre)*link required
Wife to attend TB screening test (approved centre)*link required test result valid for 6 months
Gather all required information for visa application
Apply for Spouse Visa (link required)
Attend Biometrics and document screening centres (link required)
Await visa application decision (wait between 6 and 12 weeks)
Wife to attend CFO prior to departure* (link required)
Anything with a star against* can be while waiting for other things to happen to speed up slightly the process

Lots of threads on here that will help plus lots of members to help you I would allow 6 months from marriage to departure as a broad timescale

The Banns done in the UK are the first thing :like:
Getting her a British passport is the last.

I doubt very much if you will be able to bring her back with you...unless you plan to stay over there for several months.

Our Banns were not posted in the UK when we wed in the Philippines and getting a British passport for her isnt part of the OPS question and is 5 years down the line so I didnt put it in!

OK. I thought the Banns were supposed to be posted in the UK (for British residents) so people could protest if there was a reason to do so!

Catholic church in the UK dropped the requirement as an order in 1983 although they say individual parishes could ask for them. most Catholic countries still require them.
The church of England ask for the banns to be read in the church where the marriage will take place.

I did not get married in a church over there and I was told I had to post banns in the UK registry office, which I did.

I wasn't married in a church over in the Philippines either and was not asked to display or advise banns back in the UK to anyone at the time!
See this Gov link at no point does it mention Banns

I was asked to post Banns in the UK back in 2008 for a civil wedding, which I did.
I don't need to read anything else.
No need to continue this point anymore!

What a great tone! Things move on,you initially raised the points of Banns not I!
I have merely clarified a point for the OP of miss information.
