We have to remember that bigmac doesn't like football (where it was a big issue) so he is probably in the dark regarding this demonstration, although it has surfaced in many sports over many years!
However the article is clear in it's description of the problem.

Stephanie Turner (the "female" fighter taking the knee in protest)

“I’m sorry, but I will not fence you. You’re a man, and I’m a woman, and this is a women’s tournament. I have much love and respect for you, but I will not fence you.”

“When I first started, this was unfathomable, I did this for my own physical safety, because this is a combat sport — and, in competition setting, men do fence a lot harder than women and I don’t want to get hurt."

“It makes me very angry to see that we’re going along with somebody else’s fantasy.”

    Fantasy is the right word!

Hiding his equipment and growing a pair or wearing a flowery dress shouldn't make him eligible for female sports.

Let's take it a step further, as an example if Let's say Harry Kane decided that he was a woman and became Transsexual he would be able to play for the England womens team, is that right ?, whilst people may respect that person's rights playing against women should not be allowed as it is blatantly unequal.

Taking the knee is not supposed to be a deferential gesture; it's origin was to show opposition to racism:

I know the origins of taking the knee! What I intended by my response, that she by kneeling would potentially leave herself open to crass comments such as " well at least you knelt before him" and the like

What really annoys me about women's football is the BBC mixes it in with coverage of "football" - the real game played by men.

You start reading something about Chelsea and wonder wtf they are talking about and then realize they're talking about the girlies ffs :D

I mean why don't they just call it Women's football and treat it as a separate sport, a new one, and have separate page devoted to it on their web site.

And then there's the moment where one of them score a goal and take off their shirt... ffs...

No,the biological 2 gender diversityin sport is good and healthy otherwise you may get pushing for the very route of the subject of your original post.
Indeed why stop and football. Why not direct each sports discipline to find its gender origins and assign gender exclusivity based on the origin.

One has to admit that the "girlies" are doing a heck of a lot better than the blokes...
    Top, with 6 points advantage...

I think most male supporters are looking forward to the females taking their football shirts off and swinging them around their heads the way the men do when they score a cracking goal.
Come on, let's have equality :lol::lol:

Your country is streets ahead of the UK with female sports commentators, Dom!
