Hi everyone, pleased to meet you all.

I and my girlfriend have been together for three years (LDR) she is from the Philippines. She is currently awaiting her upcoming passport appointment.

Dreading the next stage because I know how difficult it can be to get an approved visa first time round. (visitors visa)

To answer this, I think you are better off to apply for fiancée visa than visitors visa if you intend to marry her. Otherwise, I don’t think you can marry her under visitors visa. You would need to gather evidence that you two has been in constant communication for the period you claimed.

There are a few issues that are causing problems for us.

We need to choose the visitor visa first because we have never actually met face to face, this would be our first time meeting.

Welcome Simon, the current rate of rejection(2020) for visit visa for Filipinos is about 15%, so 85%are successful have a look at this link https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor the 3 main areas are
    1. good reason your lady friend will return to the Philippines at the end of the visa
2.ability to finance the trip (you can sponsor her)
    3.proof of accommodation whilst visiting
