Cant they re-route it clark? Or provide other options? That is what i dont understand with phil govt sometime. These stuff needs at least a year of planning - i remember when dubai had to reduce their runway capacity sometime in 2015 for 90 days for runway expansion etc. airlines have been notified 2 years in advance of the said plan.

That is too much hassle for travellers.

The cancellations affect selected Domestic and International flights during the period 6th to 11th March.

Hope that you are able to get rebooked OK.

You need to get in as quick as you can as all the other passengers on the affected flights are going to be doing the same as you.

    Not certain about compensation.

It seems that you might have been entitled to 600 Euro compensation if they had cancelled within 14 days of departure, I am no expert in these matters. Looks like they left it till the last moment, rather than handling the problem responsibly.

As Timmers says, best idea is to get your ass on a seat, any seat, asap.

Hmmm, I'm flying into Manila on March 6/7th, but not on PAL.

It would be great if my Emirates flight were to be diverted into Clark actually. (I'm flying back from Clark anyway).

    I'd better look into this.

Just curious, this must affect all other airlines into/from MNL, wonder how others are handling it, if at all?

I think PAL will handle this poorly. Expect a lot of negative feedbacks about it.

No mention of it on the Emirates website (yet).

Presumably the Phils authorities have thought it sensible to lean on their own carrier first, before upsetting valuable foreign customer airlines.

It has been necessary to 'thin out' the flights, rather than closing the airport, of course.

Still, I'd be very happy if they drop me off (not literally lol) at Clark though. :)

I'll give Emirates a ring if I don't get an email from them in the near future.
