    Hi Paul,

I was referring to the medevac chopper being for general use for tourists should there be any real medical emergency rather than just a diving problem like the bends.
The Cebu City hyperbaric chamber can be reached for sure if there is a diving problem as there is no great change of altitude that would compound the problem in the diver's blood.

Yes understood, the hyperbaric was more for information purposes. As you know it is something all divers should have noted prior to visiting foreign shores. I thought there were only to in PI but others may well be open now which is good to see:-

I have visited many countries to go diving but only ever checked dive shops and dive sites.
Now I have kids, I would be more cautious and responsible!

I lived on Palawan for almost 7 years, the South, where I lived , is very simple. When I first arrived everyone looked at foreigners "hello Joe" , YOU were the attraction. There are a few tourist attractions, real native villages, killer crocodiles, malaria is very rare in the towns, its only in the hills. Majority muslim in the far south.

What's to see? Several Waterfalls, a hot one "mainit falls " at Brookes point, hot springs, tabon cave, you are guaranteed tranquility in the south on the beaches. Things are a little cheaper there, great fish at the palengkes.
Brookes point - named after a british rajah, who later made kuching his capital. Narra with offshore islands full of parrots and a nice waterfall.
No earthquakes or typhoons in the south, rare in the Philippines.
