hi Colin--welcome to the site--and--congratulations on getting wed.

we would all be very interested in how she got a visit visa--especially for a 6 month visit.

unfortunately she wont be able to apply for her settlement visa in this country--she will have to return home to do that.

you --as sponsor--will have to show 6 months wage slips proving you earn the required £18,600 a year.. so your temp job may present difficulties.

Welcome to the forum Colin :)

The vast majority of people on the forum did the visa process themselves, its not too bad once you get your head around all the requirements.

    Hi Mac

Well we met last September via dia she's a nurse and I went out there to meet her family etc stayed 3 weeks got engaged then went back in Feb for our wedding stayed 4 weeks went to embassy for certificate of no marry as I go the certificate in the uk before and booked the appointment at the embassy in Manila as a back up good job I did as my uk arranged one was turned down
Then we couldn't get married in a church as I wasn't there long enough so wife got the cenoma r before I flew out in Feb as she had copies of my documents wedding was done by a high court judge friend of the family came home arranged to visit in September and booked tourist visa appointment in Manila wife met me there with all wedding certificate and copy of her work contract as she's a nurse at local hospital copy of her business as she has a cosmetic shop too copy of her savings 90k and a letter off me inviting her 3 months bank statement off my bank stamped and also copy of my work contract and copy of wedding pics and pics of me and her family and we got it sent via courier to her house with the visa approved in it but beware we applied in September and the visa stamp for 6 months started with the date in October ends in march so she's only really got 4 months. But I was told not many get approved first time

you dont need any savings if you meet the earnings requirement---and at £28k p.a.--you do. but you still need to show 6 months payslips --and bank statements--with the latest within 28 days of the online settlement visa application.

are you self employed--? only that complicates things.

Hi Colin, well firstly, good luck with achieving what you wish. My wife and I are very well educated so we did our own research and filled the forms in ourselves but should you require any advice feel free to ask. Obviously, should both of you decide to settle here you would need a permanent position of work with a gross income of £18600 unless you have either substantial savings or a disability where you claim Disablity Living Allowance at the highest level or Pip equivalent. Have a wonderful time while you're here!
